Contribution to sports competitions and support for para-athletes

Bringing the “Delight and Passion” of sports to the world through space production

NOMURA, together with related organizations, athletes, and local residents, has faced social issues through spatial production that originates from the sports industry.
In terms of space production in the sports industry, we are working on experience-based presentations, hospitality spaces, arena presentations that make use of our experience in international sports competitions, and solutions that fuse the real and the virtual.
In addition, in order to proactively contribute to the better development of the sports industry, we support para sports and athletes, and participate in and support related organizations that make use of our experience.
 

We will continue to create new value in sports and contribute to the realization of a sustainable society full of "Delight and Passion."

Spatial production related to sports

Para sports, athlete support

NOMURA Group is united as a group to support para sports, including para powerlifting Tetsuo Nishizaki (men's 49kg weight class, Rio 2016 Paralympics 54kg weight class competitor), and para powerlifting. I'm here. Through parasports, we will contribute to the creation of a space where everyone can live with peace of mind as a member of society, regardless of age, gender, nationality, or whether they have a disability.

NOMURA supports active athletes who continue to play sports while working as employees for their future activities.
Tetsuo Nishizaki, a powerlifter, joined NOMURA through the Japanese Olympic Committee's top athlete employment support system "Athnavi" and participated in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. The ever-evolving figure gives courage and excitement to many people. Today, the circle of support is expanding both inside and outside the company, creating a new sense of unity.

Tetsuo Nishizaki

Powerlifting 49kg class
Japan record 139kg (2022)

A member of the Japanese national team at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympic Games. He has won 10 consecutive championships at the All Japan Powerlifting Championships (since participating in 2013, as of 2023). As an active athlete, he has deepened his ties with local communities by giving lectures all over the country on the themes of the appeal of parasports and understanding of symbiotic societies. In addition, through advice on space, we are working to realize a space where everyone can spend comfortably.

Biography
・Born April 26, 1977 in Nara Prefecture. Active in wrestling in high school.
・At the age of 23, he suffered a spinal cord injury due to a traffic accident (complete loss of function in both lower limbs). start track and field.
・After retiring, taking the opportunity of the decision to host the Tokyo 2020 Games, he changed his sport from track and field to powerlifting and returned to active duty.
・In November 2014, joined Nomura Co., Ltd. through the Japanese Olympic Committee's top athlete employment support system "NOMURA".

Chare tomorrow! Messenger Certified Instructor

As a "tomorrow's challenge! messenger" certified by the Nippon Foundation Paralympic Support Center, we visit elementary and junior high schools, universities, and other educational institutions nationwide to give hands-on lectures and give lectures on the theme of "barrier-free minds."

Participating in and supporting sports-related organizations

Currently, we are participating in and supporting the following organizations.
 

Sports Ecosystem Promotion Council

NOMURA Group participates as a board member of the Sports Ecosystem Promotion Council (established in January 2022), which aims to promote the sports industry in the DX era and establish a sports ecosystem. Together with the members of the council, we aim to form a new ecosystem with the sports industry as the starting point for solving social issues.

NOMURA, Ltd. agrees with the activities of the Sports Ecosystem Promotion Council and will participate as a board company.

B.LEAGUE

As a "B.LEAGUE Supporting Company", NOMURA Co., Ltd. is promoting further development in the space concept design field, which plays an important role in arena sports, in collaboration with the Japan Professional Basketball League.
Aiming to help popularize men's basketball in Japan and support players who are active in clubs across the country, we will continue to contribute to the enjoyment of the sport by the fans who support us.

Alvark Tokyo

NOMURA, Ltd. is the official partner of B.LEAGUE "Alvark Tokyo". “Alvark Tokyo” is promoting activities that contribute to a better future with the goal of “a sports club that grows with the region and aims at the world”. In addition, the next-generation arena TOKYO A-ARENA (provisional name) project, which is scheduled to be born in the fall of 2025, is contributing to the further development and development of the Aomi and Daiba areas.
As a company based in Odaiba, we sympathize with the business management of the club, which delivers dreams and excitement through the sport of basketball, and the vision of future projects. We will support clubs and players, and together with Alvark Tokyo, we will contribute to the potential and appeal of sports and regional revitalization.
