Through spatial production, we aim to spread the Delight and Passion of sports to the world.

NOMURA, Ltd. has been working with related organizations, athletes, and local communities to address social issues through spatial production that originates from the sports industry.
With regards to spatial production in the sports industry, we are working on experiential production, hospitality spaces, arena production utilizing our experience in international sporting events, and solutions that combine the real and virtual worlds.
Furthermore, in order to proactively contribute to the further development of the sports industry, we are involved in and support parasports and athletes, as well as related organizations, leveraging our experience.

Spatial production related to sports

Sports spaces are no longer just places for improving health; they are becoming more and more complex, with demands for entertainment and hospitality that everyone can enjoy with peace of mind, as well as integration with technology.

Para sports, athlete support

The NOMURA Group is a unified supporter of our company's para powerlifter Tetsuo Nishizaki (who competed in the men's 49kg and 54kg classes at the Rio 2016 Paralympics), as well as para powerlifting and other parasports. Through parasports, we will contribute to creating an environment in which everyone can live safely as a member of society, regardless of age, gender, nationality, or whether or not they have a disability.
 

 

NOMURA Ltd. employee athlete

NOMURA, Ltd. provides support to active athletes who continue to play sports while working as employees, helping them to continue their competitive activities in the future.
Tetsuo Nishizaki, a powerlifter, joined NOMURA, Ltd. through the Japan Olympic Committee's top athlete employment support program "Athnavi," and competed in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games. His constant evolution gives courage and inspiration to many people. Currently, the circle of support is expanding both inside and outside the company, fostering a new sense of unity.

 

Tetsuo Nishizaki

Powerlifting 49kg class
Japan record 139kg (2022)

A member of the Japanese national team at the Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympic Games. He has won 10 consecutive championships at the All Japan Powerlifting Championships (since participating in 2013, as of 2023). As an active athlete, he has deepened his ties with local communities by giving lectures all over the country on the themes of the appeal of parasports and understanding of symbiotic societies. In addition, through advice on space, we are working to realize a space where everyone can spend comfortably.

 

Biography
・Born on April 26, 1977 in Nara Prefecture. Was active in wrestling during high school.
At the age of 23, he suffered a spinal cord injury in a traffic accident (losing all function in both legs). He began athletics.
After retiring, she returned to active competition after the decision was made to hold the Tokyo 2020 Games, changing her sport from track and field to powerlifting.
In November 2014, he joined NOMURA, Ltd. through "Athnavi," a job placement support program for top athletes run by the Japan Olympic Committee, a public interest incorporated foundation.

Chare tomorrow! Messenger Certified Instructor

As a "tomorrow's challenge! messenger" certified by the Nippon Foundation Paralympic Support Center, we visit elementary and junior high schools, universities, and other educational institutions nationwide to give hands-on lectures and give lectures on the theme of "barrier-free minds."

Participating in and supporting sports-related organizations

Currently, we are participating in and supporting the following organizations.
 

Sports Ecosystem Promotion Council

NOMURA Group is participating as a director company in the Sports Ecosystem Promotion Council (established in January 2022), which aims to promote the sports industry in the digital transformation era and establish a sports ecosystem. Together with council members, we aim to create a new ecosystem that uses the sports industry as a starting point to solve social issues.

NOMURA, Ltd. supports the objectives of the Sports Ecosystem Promotion Council and will participate as a director company.

 

B.LEAGUE

As a B.LEAGUE Supporting Company, NOMURA is collaborating with the Japan Professional Basketball League (a public interest incorporated association) to further develop the field of spatial concept design, which plays an important role in arena sports.
We aim to help promote the spread of men's basketball in Japan and support the players active in clubs across the country, and we will contribute to ensuring that fans can enjoy the sport.

Alvark Tokyo

NOMURA is an official partner of the B.LEAGUE team "ALBARK TOKYO." With the goal of being "a sports club that grows with the local community and aims to be global," ALBA Tokyo is working to contribute to a better future. In addition, with the launch of the next-generation arena TOKYO A-ARENA (tentative name) project, which is scheduled to open in the fall of 2025, the team is contributing to further the potential and development of the Aomi-Odaiba area.
As a company based in Odaiba, we empathize with the club's business operations, which deliver dreams and excitement through the sport of basketball, and the vision for future projects. We will support the club and its players, and together with Alvark Tokyo, we will contribute to creating the potential and appeal of sports and revitalizing the local area.
