WEAZER Nishiizu

WEAZER, developed by ARTH Co., Ltd., is an off-grid residential module that generates electricity using solar power and produces water by filtering and sterilizing rainwater, making it possible to install it even in locations without electricity, gas, or water infrastructure. In addition, it is characterized by the fact that it is manufactured in a factory as a unit and transported, allowing for installation in a short construction period of just a few days.
By incorporating this cutting-edge technology, we aim to create a world where you can stay anywhere in the world without harming nature, simply by "placing" the device. The first model of this technology has now opened in West Izu as a private rental accommodation.
Our company was responsible for design supervision and FF&E (Functional Floor and Equipment) design and production for this facility.

The construction of unitized container modules reduces the burden of on-site construction work, and has the advantage of being able to be installed in a short period of time on slopes facing the sea, such as the site in question. On the other hand, it was necessary to combine the simplicity with the high-quality space creation that ARTH aims to provide guests with high-value-added services.

A key concept design feature is the incorporation of diagonal lines to guide guests towards the sea as they enter the rectangular container space. This design element is utilized not only in the exterior walls, eaves, and deck, but also in the interior layout.
This allowed us to add concept design element to the typically rigid, rectangular space of a container, leading to a proposal for a new approach to container architecture.
