Tokyu Kabukicho Tower Entertainment & Restaurant Common Area
The tenant areas located on the lower floors of Tokyu Kabukicho Tower, which was built as a complex entertainment facility, were concept design as an integrated space with no boundaries between the common functions and the tenant areas, within an open plan that seamlessly connects to Cinema City Plaza. concept design concept is MOVE. In the center of the atrium space is a stage for nurturing young creators, where the creators appear to emerge above the infinitely reflected flowing light. Images are projected in an enveloping manner in the atrium between the floors, reflecting off the ceiling surface to create a sense of rising. The flowing light is directly connected to the escalator wall, inviting visitors to the upper floors.
The entire facility is open, allowing visitors to move around freely, creating a unique spatial experience in which a variety of scenes can unfold. This project aims to add a new dimension to the Shinjuku Kabukicho area, creating a town that is more tolerant and accepting of all kinds of individuality.
The tenant space on the lower floors from the 2nd to 5th floors of Tokyu Kabukicho Tower was built as a complex entertainment facility, and as the ground floor of the entire building, it was required to "connect with and become part of the town" and to function as a hub to draw visitors to the theaters, cinemas, and hotel on the upper floors. It was required to present an unprecedented form of commercial space and create a new entertainment space that could promote Shinjuku, and ultimately Japanese, culture to the world.
