National Okinawa Memorial Park Oceanic Culture Museum

This facility, which inherited the philosophy of the Okinawa International Ocean Expo held in 1975, has been reborn as a cultural facility that is responsible for international exchanges suitable for the century of the ocean.

In addition to valuable materials from the 1970s, we have also created new cultural resources—such as a Micronesian sailing canoe (the Lien Porowat) and an Okinawan sabani boat—and completely revamped displays.

Under the theme of "Way finding traditional navigation," it conveys the history and culture of unknown voyagers who spread across the Pacific Ocean.

We brought in a total of 20 supervisors and experts to guide concept design process, enabling comprehensive implementation.
