overview

"Square JS" is a complex facility operated by Nippon Sogo Jyutaku.
At Square JS, we use thermography cameras to capture and record the differences in the insulation of living spaces that change depending on the material and construction method, and we are conducting a "thermo experimental exhibition" to utilize the results in future spaces. This facility attracts many customers, such as housing complex management companies, housing supply corporations, and local government officials, based on the keyword "danchi" (housing complex). However, the exhibition content is technical, so it is difficult for them to fully understand it. Therefore, through this video, visitors can learn that the thermal environment of living spaces has improved due to changes in the times, construction methods, and materials, and then they can tour the actual space, allowing them to smoothly understand the complex exhibition content.

<Video Story>
The 1960s. Manabu, a curious elementary school student, learns about the insulation of living spaces from his father, Kiyoshi, who is a housing complex designer, and becomes interested in the research and improvement of spaces in the future. Then the space twists and he travels back in time to 202X! Kiyoshi is excited by the space of the future. Manabu learns that the temperature of living spaces changes depending on the material and construction method. When they return to the Showa era, their mother Keiko has prepared a meal and is waiting for them to return. The family enjoys spending time together imagining the future that will come to Manabu someday.

Issues/requests

Square JS is a multi-purpose facility operated by Nippon Sogo Jutaku, Inc., which is responsible for providing a variety of forward-looking services, developing technologies, proposing housing repair and renovation, handling emergency accidents, and training personnel to improve technical skills, all with the aim of creating more comfortable living spaces in apartment buildings.
Previously, explanations of the "Thermo Experimental displays" were given verbally to visitors of this facility. However, this video serves as an introduction before the tour, aiming to promote a deeper understanding by allowing visitors to grasp the purpose of displays before viewing the actual experimental equipment.

solution

■Convey construction methods and materials in an easy-to-understand manner
Since many people involved in the housing complex, such as engineers and construction personnel, visited, it was necessary to explain in detail the complex details related to construction methods and materials. Therefore, we used motion graphics to express it in an easy-to-understand manner so that even beginners could understand it.
■Easy-to-read explanatory text and motion graphic expressions
This is a pre-tour explanatory video at a facility visited by people of various ages, and this video will be viewed through a display in one of the conference rooms. Therefore, we set the font size so that the text can be read from any seat.
It also provides visual follow-up so that you can understand the technical terms contained in the voiceover and dialogue in a short time.
■Story that is easy to empathize with
Since there are many explanations from beginning to end with technical explanations such as materials and construction methods, it is difficult for non-engineers and construction personnel to understand, so we created a script that allows many viewers to understand the Thermo Experiment better after setting up characters and stories that are easy for many viewers to empathize with, and understanding the background of the company.
