overview

"Square JS" is a complex facility operated by Nippon Sogo Jyutaku.
At Square JS, we use thermography cameras to capture and record the differences in the insulation of living spaces that change depending on the material and construction method, and we are conducting a "thermo experimental exhibition" to utilize the results in future spaces. This facility attracts many customers, such as housing complex management companies, housing supply corporations, and local government officials, based on the keyword "danchi" (housing complex). However, the content of the exhibition is technical, so it is difficult for them to fully understand it. Therefore, we have used this video to let visitors know that the thermal environment of living spaces has improved due to changes in the times, construction methods, and materials, and then have them tour the actual space, allowing them to smoothly understand the complex content of the exhibition.

<Video Story>
The 1960s. A curious elementary school student, Manabu learns about the insulation of living spaces from his father, Kiyoshi, who is a housing complex designer, and becomes interested in the research and improvement of spaces in the future. Then the space twists and he travels back in time to 202X! Kiyoshi is excited by the space of the future. Manabu learns that the temperature of living spaces changes depending on the material and construction method. When they return to the Showa era, their mother Keiko has prepared a meal and is waiting for them to return. The family enjoys spending time together imagining the future that Manabu will one day encounter.

Issues/requests

In order to create more comfortable living spaces in apartment complexes, Square JS provides a variety of future-oriented services, develops technology, proposes housing repairs and renovations, responds to emergencies, and develops human resources to improve technical skills. This is a complex facility run by Nippon General Housing Co., Ltd., which is responsible for various activities.
Up until now, visitors to this facility had been given verbal explanations of the ``thermal experiment displays,'' but as an introduction before the tour, we used this video to help them understand the purpose of displays and then try the actual experimental equipment. The aim is to encourage a deeper understanding through the tour.

solution

■ Convey construction methods and materials in an easy-to-understand manner
Since there were many people involved in the housing complex, such as engineers and construction personnel, it was necessary to explain in detail the complex details of construction methods and materials. Therefore, we used motion graphics to express it in an easy-to-understand manner so that even beginners can understand it.
■ Easy-to-read explanatory text and motion graphic expressions
This is an explanatory video before visiting the facility visited by people of various ages, and this video is viewed through a display in one of the conference rooms. That's why we set the font size so that the characters can be read from any seat.
In addition, visual follow-up is provided so that you can understand the technical terms contained in the narration and dialogue in a short time.
■ Easy-to-relate storytelling
Since it is difficult for non-engineers and construction personnel to understand the thermo experiment by setting up characters and stories that many viewers can easily relate to, and understanding the background of the company, we created a script that allows many viewers to understand the thermo experiment better.
