overview

The SC Business Fair is sponsored by the Japan Shopping Center Association and is one of the largest events in the industry that brings together people involved in shopping centers. Our company also exhibited for three days from January 25th to 27th, 2023.

In conjunction with the book "Let's Create a Happy Space - The Hardworking People of NOMURA" published in February 2023, concept design the booth to be a "happy space" for visitors, with a white base, mirrored walls, books lined up on the fixtures and shelves, and coffee on offer. Approximately 670 people visited our booth over the three days.

This book introduces the cutting-edge spatial creations we have undertaken, from amusement facilities to hotels, museums and offices, that bring out people's happiness.

Issues/requests

The Japan Shopping Center Association will celebrate its 50th anniversary in 2023, and its mission is to "create a new 50th anniversary." This event was the start of this, and we received requests to provide a place for companies to "study and interact."
The Japan Shopping Center Association believes that the key values that will be provided by commerce in the future are contributing to the resolution of social issues, sustainability, and the way real and online spaces should be, so our booth will be designed to reflect these ideas. There was a need.

solution

The project started with our members' desire to create an displays booth unlike anything that had ever been seen before. We set the ceiling high so that anyone could easily enter, and created an open concept design with two openings that took advantage of the booth layout, while installing a monitor at the entrance to draw interest in the booth, and making the walls mirrored to give a sense of spaciousness to the limited space. Furthermore, by providing coffee, the entire booth was created like a cafe, creating a comfortable space for visitors.

The booth, which was linked to the book "Let's Create a Happy Space - The Hardworking People of NOMURA", used various themes of interest to visitors, such as "utilizing local resources," "regional revitalization," "urban development," "content," and "rebranding," to stimulate communication that would provide hints for thinking about future commercial facilities.

By providing a consistent story from planning to concept design, construction and operation, we were able to garner a great deal of support from visitors.
