With the aim of promoting Obayashi Corporation's efforts for the 2025 Japan World Exposition (Osaka-Kansai Expo), we have set up a visitor room in the Expo site office and planned a facility to attend to Obayashi Corporation's stakeholders and guests of the Exposition Association. displays The structure is centered on a circular theater reminiscent of the large roof ring of the World Expo, and the outline of the Expo and explanations and mock-ups of the pavilion of Obayashi Corporation construction are displays around it. displays The fixtures are made of a single wooden tube, and the graphics output by the plotter are displayed using clamps, expressing the "on-site feeling" that makes use of the background of the field office and the "sense of realism" that the Expo is being created in real time at this location, and the plan is to have updatable so that the "now" of the site can be displays. In addition, we displays materials that reused CLT panels used in the demonstration experiment of the large roof ring, graphics with drawing frames as motifs, and the latest construction photos, aiming for a displays space that grows together with the site until the concept design and the World Expo, which brings out the uniqueness of Obayashi Corporation.
The requests were that the CLT materials used in the demonstration experiment of the Large Ring Roof be reused, and that the space be a place that would help build momentum for the Expo by allowing guests to learn about the Osaka-Kansai Expo.
We designed fixtures that use upcycled CLT materials for the columns of the central amphitheater and for the mock-up displays of each of the surrounding pavilions. In addition, the graphic displays panels are made of wooden single pipes that can be assembled using commonly available materials, and the parts can be disassembled and reused after the event.
We were conscious of being environmentally friendly by reusing materials, and of inheriting the legacy of the Great Ring Roof that was built over many years, and creating a space that brings together the thoughts of all those involved in hosting the Expo.
We have designed a visitor facility that harmonizes with the construction site, and construction has been very well received by visitors. By publicizing our efforts for the Expo at the same facility, we are improving our presence.
