MID POINT Musashi Kosugi

This project, "MID POINT Musashi Kosugi" (Nakahara-ku, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture), was newly established in July 2020 by Cosmos Initia Co., Ltd., a member of the Daiwa House Group, as the third installment of their "MID POINT" rental office series that realizes "living close to work."

Our company was responsible for concept design, schematic design, working drawings, and construction.
Located in "Kosugi 3rd Avenue," a multi-purpose complex just a 2-minute walk from Musashi-Kosugi Station, the location offers excellent access for both work and customer service.
In addition to the traditional office space, the lounge also includes a kitchen equipped with tableware and cooking utensils, making it a space that can be used not only for purely business purposes but also for events hosted by our clients.
Additionally, as a community space open to the local area, we have an attached cafe that is available to everyone, even those who do not have a contract with MID POINT.

[Social Issues / Customer Issues / Requests]
The requirements included securing sufficient office space and rooms, while also incorporating a café on the first floor and a lounge area that would be convenient for clients.


[Solution]
By consolidating the kitchen and plumbing facilities in the center of the first floor, we maximized space efficiency while zoning the space to ensure the maximum number of seats for the cafe and lounge. Furthermore, by concept design the kitchen as a counter kitchen, we separated the cafe and workspace while maintaining a clear view of the entire space.


[Customer Feedback]
As the third location for MID POINT, they managed to achieve a perfect balance between upgrading the existing location and incorporating a new initiative: a café. Furthermore, despite the challenging floor plan, they adjusted the layout to ensure a comfortable living space while maintaining profitability and rental income.
