MID POINT Musashi Kosugi

This project is for "MID POINT Musashi-Kosugi" (Nakahara-ku, Kawasaki City, Kanagawa Prefecture), which was newly opened in July 2020 by Cosmos Initia Co., Ltd., a member of the Daiwa House Group, as the third installment of its "MID POINT" rental office business, which enables people to live and work in close proximity.

We were responsible for concept design, schematic design, working drawings, and construction.
The store is located in Kosugi 3rd Avenue, a complex just a two-minute walk from Musashi-Kosugi Station, making it easily accessible both as a workplace and a place to serve customers.
In addition to the traditional office space, the lounge also has a kitchen equipped with tableware and cooking utensils, making it suitable not only for business purposes but also for hosting events for contracted guests.
There is also a café on the premises that serves as a community space open to the local community and is available to those who are not under contract with MID POINT.

[Social issues/customer issues/requests]
While ensuring sufficient office space and number of rooms, the building was required to also include a cafe and a lounge space on the first floor that would be easy for tenants to use.


[Solution]
By concentrating the kitchen and plumbing facilities in the center of the first floor, we were able to improve space efficiency while zoning to maximize the number of seats in the cafe and lounge. In addition, by making the kitchen a counter kitchen, we were able to create concept design that allows a view of the entire space while still separating the cafe and work space.


[Customer feedback]
As MID POINT's third base, they achieved an excellent balance by upgrading the existing base and adding a new cafe as a new initiative. In addition, despite the difficult floor plan, they adjusted the layout to ensure the comfort of each space while securing the rent for the balance sheet.
