overview

Juno Park, which opened in Kizugawa City, Kyoto Prefecture, is a project that renovated Sekisui House's experiential research facility, Nattoku Kobo, into a residential education and entertainment facility that cultivates children's sensibilities.
The facility consists of four floors, with the first floor being a cafe and library that local residents can use casually, and the second to fourth floors being an experience area that requires a fee.

Our company was responsible for planning and developing the "Experience Activities," a 45-minute game-style group workshop linked to six themes related to "living" based on Sekisui House's idea of "sensitivities nurtured through daily life," as well as the "Experience Gallery," displays where people could enjoy interacting with things and thinking. We also produced the staff's progress script and facility operation manual as part of the operation planning work, and designed and construction interiors and outdoor signage for the entire facility.

Issues/requests

As a facility that combines education and entertainment, the content and spatial design needed to enable the target audience of upper elementary school children to learn while having fun.
Aiming to increase children's motivation and create an experience that would foster diverse sensibilities, the project team, including the client, came together and held repeated discussions to tackle a problem for which there was no correct answer.

solution

To verify whether the planned content was truly something that children could learn in a fun way, the project team and employees' children repeatedly assembled and tested the prototypes, and we also held a trial session in which we invited general elementary school students.
Furthermore, by working as a team to consider content and space as a whole, we aimed to maximize the experiential value of the facility.

Customer's voice

We have received many compliments from both inside and outside the company about the design and design philosophy. Thank you again.
