overview

At "Japan Home Show & Building Show 2025," Japan's largest comprehensive architectural displays, we created displays booth to promote "PANECO®," an environmentally friendly material made from upcycled discarded clothing. Our company was responsible for the overall concept concept design, planning, and construction of the booth.

Based on PANECO® and light gauge steel (LGS), we concept design a large structure approximately 4 meters high, with the floor, walls, and ceiling all constructed from PANECO®. The life-size wall surface intuitively conveys the scale of its use as an interiors building material, while the interior proposes living scenes that utilize PANECO®. By giving the exterior and interior of the booth different surfaces, we created an exhibition booth that directly and impressively conveys that it can be used as both a base material and a displays material, as well as the relationships between building materials, ease of construction, and the expression and texture of the material itself.

Issues/requests

"PANECO®," made from recycled discarded clothing, has been used mainly as a finishing material for furniture and fixtures until now. This time, in preparation for full-scale social implementation, the new product "PANECO® board M," which has been scaled up for use as a building material and boasts excellent strength and stable quality, was announced, and we received a request to have an impactful booth to convey the product's features and practicality as the place where it will be unveiled for the first time.

solution

With the establishment of a mass production system, the new PANEOCO® can now be used as a interiors building material in larger spaces and diverse settings. To intuitively convey its features and potential to visitors, we created a 4-meter-high structure composed entirely of PANECO®, covering the floor, walls, and ceiling.
Outside the booth, lightweight steel frames (LGS) used in actual interiors construction were combined with PANECO®, visualizing their relationship and construction as building materials. Furthermore, by loading large-sized PANEO® machines produced onto forklifts for displays, mass production at the factory became possible, which is a striking point for this initiative.
Meanwhile, the interior is a space that preserves PANECO® as it is, creating a displays where you can experience the soft texture and comfort brought by the materials, allowing you to experience living together with PANECO®.
By simultaneously showcasing both aspects of building materials that support spaces and richly enrich daily life, we created a highly appealing displays booth that naturally understands both the "characteristics and practicality of the building material" and the "texture and appeal of the material itself."

From the beginning, the booth was designed with relocation in mind, and after the event, some parts were dismantled and processed for relocation displays in the showroom.
