Aqua World Ibaraki Oarai Aquarium: Dolphin and Sea Lion Ocean Live Show

Our company was responsible for the planning, direction, design, and construction of the two daytime and nighttime performances of the "Dolphin and Sea Lion Ocean Live" program at Aqua World Ibaraki Oarai Aquarium.
For the daytime performance, "WOOOOARAI! -A Story of Encounters Begins Here-", we have introduced a new transparent display. The live performance has been revamped to highlight the dynamism and individuality of the creatures through video effects synchronized with the ocean that unfolds before the audience, and multi-view footage from live cameras placed throughout the venue.
Furthermore, the evening performance, "FLOW A LIFE - The Pulsating Sea of Life -," featured an immersive visual experience that spread across the entire wall. The integrated combination of video, lighting, and sound created an immersive experience that transported the audience into the ocean, allowing them to experience the world of Oarai's sea where life meets, intertwines, and resonates.

The challenge was to balance "learning and entertainment" by providing educational opportunities from the creatures in the aquarium while also creating live performances that deeply move the audience.
We also received a request for a live performance that would "exceed the audience's expectations," so we aimed to create an unprecedented live experience through visuals and special effects.

In the daytime performance "WOOOOARAI!", we leveraged the strength of the trainers and animals' synchronized interactions that we have cultivated so far, while also incorporating a performance style that expands the real-life performance with video, resulting in a live show that produced unexpected developments.
In the evening performance "FLOW A LIFE," we took advantage of the unique location of the aquarium, which is situated in the sea of Oarai (a sea where the Kuroshio and Oyashio currents meet), and transformed the lessons learned about the birth of creatures and the exchange of life that takes place in this sea into a story. By expressing these through immersive visuals, we created a work that "combines learning and entertainment."
