Hiroshima City Local History Museum Satellite
overview
This facility is an annex displays facility of the Hiroshima City Local History Museum, developed in conjunction with the relocation of the Hiroshima City Central Library to a commercial building directly connected to the station. It aims to foster a sense of local pride among citizens by providing a place where they can learn about Hiroshima's history and culture firsthand, while also serving as a hub for guiding visitors to the main museum and a gateway for tourism.
displays focuses on the geographical characteristics of "rivers, sea, and mountains," which are deeply connected to the formation of Hiroshima, and introduces the history of transportation, industry, life, and culture. In addition to videos that allow visitors to compare old and new photographs, and a floor-mounted illustrated map full of Hiroshima's charms, the area introducing industry includes an interactive game based on oyster farming, making it an enjoyable and educational experience for both children and adults.
