This facility was added to be operated in conjunction with the existing EXPO'70 Pavilion. Its purpose is to display a permanent exhibit of the original "Golden Face" that was installed at the top of the Tower of the Sun, the symbol of the 1970 Japan World displays (Osaka Expo), until 1992, as well as materials related to the 1970 Osaka displays.
・Re-examination of an displays space suitable for the museum based on schematic design and completion of working drawings
- Planning and considering a new corner that will allow generations who are unfamiliar with the 1970 Osaka Expo to feel immersed in that time.
- Verification of schematic design for the museum's main displays, the 10.6m diameter "Golden Face" displays
There were the above challenges.
- We analyzed numerous documents, reconsidered the displays story, and completed working drawings.
・As a new corner, we proposed and planned the "EXPO '70 Experience Gallery" using face-to-face video, which was completed as one of the highlight displays, allowing visitors to experience the excitement and enthusiasm of the time.
・For the "Golden Face" displays, based on design verification (structural calculations), the base was designed using FRP and polystyrene to reduce weight, which helped to resolve the structural issues.
