2025 World Expo, Japan "Cities of the Future" Pavilion Mitsui O.S.K. Lines displays Place
overview
The "Cities of the Future" pavilion at the 2025 World Exposition, Japan (Osaka-Kansai Expo) is a joint exhibit project by the Expo Association and 12 supporting parties. Based on the concept of "WIND VISION," the Mitsui O.S.K. Lines displays displays features a large-scale model of the hydrogen production ship "Windhunter," which is being developed by Mitsui O.S.K. Lines, as well as a large screen.
We created an interactive experience that allowed visitors to experience the wind, an inexhaustible natural energy captured by the wind hunters, and the movement created by the boat.
Issues/requests
The aim is to provide visitors with an easy-to-understand and engaging explanation of how Windhunter uses wind power to produce, transport and supply hydrogen from seawater.
solution
When wind was blown onto the large model of the Windhunter with a fan, a simulated voyage began, linked to the large screen at the back. The ending was designed to change depending on the amount of wind blown, and through the model and video, it was planned as a participatory attraction where visitors could learn while playing a game. The original fans used in the experience were also distributed as a commemorative gift to visitors.
