Cacao Tiegokaan visits cacao producing areas and works with cacao farmers to create chocolate from beans without compromise. The interior of the store is decorated with crushed cacao husk, the thin skin of cacao that is discarded during the chocolate manufacturing process. The chocolate carefully made from cacao fruit and the interior of the store, wrapped in cacao husk, resonate with each other, creating a special space where you can experience the charm of cacao with your whole body.
In the process of producing chocolate, cacao husk, the thin skin of the cacao beans that is generated in large quantities at a rate of about 20-30%, is generated in large quantities. The question is how to effectively utilize this without discarding it. In this project, we focused on cacao husk as an effort to upcycle waste materials, and attempted to find new value and possibilities for the material.
The "cacao husk" that is produced during the chocolate manufacturing process is finely crushed and mixed with sand and cement to be used as the main finish for the store, giving it a smooth finish just like a plasterer would do with chocolate. By upcycling "cacao husk," which is generally discarded, we have been able to increase the new value of the material.
The store design, layout was done in a way that clearly captured the philosophy of our brand and conveyed that philosophy to customers through the space. We are grateful that they were able to create a store that will impress our customers.
