B.LEAGUE ALL-STAR GAME WEEKEND 2024 IN OKINAWA LINEART MONUMENT

Art monuments depicting players were installed in the outdoor plaza of the Okinawa Arena, the venue for the "B.LEAGUE ALL-STAR GAME WEEKEND 2024 IN OKINAWA". By depicting the players with life-size lines, visitors can experience the players' height, speed, jumping ability, and other physical capabilities. concept design expresses the world of the B.LEAGUE purpose, "Let your heart burn," and, under the concept of "PARK," is intended to inspire communication between visitors and multiple venues.

In addition to the main venue, Okinawa Arena, the All-Star Game was held over three days for the first time, based on the concept of "PARK/ARENA," utilizing the nearby Okinawa City Athletics Stadium. Basketball Corporation requested that the outdoor grass area connecting the two venues not only be decorated in accordance with the concept to create a visually appealing atmosphere, but also serve as a touchpoint for more customers, attracting them and encouraging them to move around the area. Furthermore, given the challenging setup conditions in remote Okinawa, where severe weather and strong winds were a concern, concept design of the monument needed to ensure safety while also being easy to assemble and disassemble on-site for transportation.

Focusing on the players selected for the starting five in the All-Star Game, we collaborated with a graphic designer to create dynamic line art illustrations. To allow viewers to experience the players' physical abilities and skills spatially, we produced a steel line art monument. Because it is composed of lines, the monument itself is lightweight and unaffected by wind, making it possible to install it outdoors. Furthermore, by designing it to be assembled and disassembled on-site, it can be compactly packed and transported, and concept design also allows for touring displays after the event.
