overview

An art monument depicting players was set up in the outdoor plaza of Okinawa Arena, the venue for "B.LEAGUE ALL-STAR GAME WEEKEND 2024 IN OKINAWA." By depicting the players with life-size lines, visitors can experience the players' height, speed, jumps and other physical abilities. Expressing the world of B.LEAGUE's purpose, "Hearts Burning," concept design is inspired by communication that connects visitors and multiple venues under the concept of "PARK."

Issues/requests

In addition to the main venue, Okinawa Arena, the nearby Okinawa City Athletic Stadium was also used, and the All-Star Game was held over three days for the first time under the concept of "PARK/ARENA". In using the outdoor grass plaza connecting the two venues, Basketball Corporation expected the design to be a touch point for more customers, attracting visitors and encouraging them to move around, in addition to providing a dramatic effect through environmental decorations that follow the concept. In addition, given the harsh construction conditions of the event in Okinawa, a remote location, and concerns about the effects of bad weather and strong winds, a monument concept design was required that ensured safety and was easy to transport, allowing it to be assembled and disassembled on site.

solution

Focusing on the players selected for the starting five in the All-Star Game, we worked with a graphic designer to create dynamic line illustrations. We created a steel line art monument to spatially experience the physical abilities of the players. The monument itself is lightweight because it is made of lines, and is not affected by wind, making it possible to hold the exhibition outdoors. In addition, concept design allows for compact packaging and transportation by making it possible to assemble and disassemble on-site, and it can also be used as a traveling displays after the event.

Customer's voice

Thanks to NOMURA 's help in creating this space, it has become one that fans and boosters can enjoy.
It was very well received on social media, and I think it was great that we were able to create such a spot on the route between the arena and the park during the All-Star Game, which was the first to incorporate the PARK element. Thank you very much.
