overview

As Kyoto Baum's flagship shop, it is the largest in Kyoto, with a factory where you can see how Kyoto Baum is made, a shop that sells special packages and limited edition items, and a cafe and restaurant where you can enjoy freshly made sweets and limited edition menus. This is a project of the sweets museum.

Issues/requests

Because the store is located in Jujo, which is outside of Kyoto's tourist areas, the store needed to be designed in a way that would attract visitors and make them want to visit with an iconic space that is both photogenic and unique to Kyoto Baum. .

solution

Kyoto Baum is a Baumkuchen made with matcha, created by the combination of Japanese and Western styles. We aimed for a ``delicious-looking space'' based on a casual Japanese style that is not too Japanese-style, so that you can feel the history of the sweets and the feeling of freshly made sweets that can only be found in a factory.
The entire building has a Kyoto Baum feel by expressing the ``tree rings,'' ``green,'' and ``circle'' that are reminiscent of Kyoto Baum using materials such as Japanese paper, silk, bamboo, and tatami, which are reminiscent of Kyoto craftsmanship. We were able to create an iconic store that is dotted around the city and is easy to share on social media, etc., and is easy for visitors to discover.

Customer's voice

At the beginning of the project, we asked them to design the restaurant on the second floor, but when the plans changed, we asked them to design interiors of the entire first to third floors. With the exterior already decided, they were flexible in incorporating our wishes and created a wonderful building that is uniquely AND-like.
Additionally, thanks to your company's handling of displays planning and construction, the facility has an overall unified look and has been very well received by visitors.
