% Arabica Kuwait Sixth Ring Road The Walk

This is the concept design and planning work for the Kuwait store of "%ARABICA", a coffee shop brand from Kyoto.

The store is located overlooking Jaber Al Ahmad International Stadium, Kuwait's largest stadium, which can accommodate 60,000 people and is used for international competitions. Therefore, we focused on the rare location, where the stadium, a landmark that characterizes the surrounding area, can be viewed directly and dynamically from inside the store, and reflected this in the spatial concept design.
The stadium's distinctive exterior oval shape, the membrane roof that keeps out wind and rain while letting in a moderate amount of natural light, and the lightweight framework that also serves a structural role - these three elements were extracted and incorporated into the space to create harmony.
