Nomura Co., Ltd. to exhibit at "TOKYO MIDTOWN DESIGN LIVE 2026"

We will exhibit furniture units made from locally sourced materials, proposing a new way of living for the future.

Nomura Co., Ltd. and Nomura Co., Ltd. Future Creation Institute will be exhibiting at "TOKYO MIDTOWN DESIGN LIVE 2026," a design event to be held at Tokyo Midtown from Friday, October 16, 2026. The event, themed "Gazing," will propose the charm of design and new discoveries through exhibitions, talk sessions, and markets by creators and companies active both domestically and internationally.

With approximately 60% of Japan's planted forests reaching harvesting age, there are high expectations for the sustainable use of forest resources through timber utilization. Nomura Co., Ltd. has been exploring the use of local timber for some time now.

This exhibition showcases "disassemblable and movable furniture units" made from locally sourced materials. It proposes possibilities for living and working in diverse locations, from cramped urban spaces to natural environments in harmony with the local climate and environment. Through furniture units that leverage the inherent charm and versatility of wood, the exhibition aims to communicate a new way of creating spaces that connect people with nature, and between local communities and cities.
