The first fusion of professional childcare services in Tokyo and a high-quality hotel that stimulates all five senses.

Smile Project Co., Ltd. (Gotanda, Shinagawa-ku, Tokyo), which operates over 160 licensed daycare centers nationwide and prep schools (premium unlicensed daycare centers) in six locations in Tokyo, including Azabudai Hills, will open Villa Mom, the first dedicated post-natal care hotel in Tokyo operated by a childcare provider*, in Ariake, Koto-ku, Tokyo, on Monday, June 22, 2026. NOMURA Co.,Ltd. was in charge of design, layout, construction, service concept, amenities, and direction of art within the facility.
Based on the philosophy of "giving new mothers time to rejuvenate their minds and bodies," we offer a "third place" that is neither a medical facility nor a private home, but rather a resort villa-like setting that combines hotel-quality hospitality with professional care. Midwives and childcare workers are on duty 24 hours a day to provide comprehensive support, from physical recovery after childbirth to childcare advice and emotional support.

■ To realize postpartum care that doesn't leave you struggling alone: Seven features of the services offered by Villa Mom
1. Based on the safety management system cultivated in our childcare business, midwives and childcare workers are on duty 24 hours a day.
2. Providing high-quality hospitality care at a dedicated postpartum care hotel.
3. Not only are midwives on staff, but childcare workers are also available, providing comprehensive childcare consultations and lifestyle advice.
4. Mindfulness helps support mental health issues such as postpartum depression and loneliness.
5. Five recovery meals a day prepared by a Michelin-starred chef
6. Family-friendly stay design that allows partners and children to accompany guests.
7. A system for prompt medical collaboration & support for beauty and health.

*Regarding the first time this has happened in Tokyo
As of April 3, 2026, a publicly available information survey confirmed the operators of major private postpartum care hotels/hotel-stay type postpartum care facilities in Tokyo. The results showed that no cases of facilities operated by childcare providers that continue to operate licensed daycare centers/preschools were found prior to Villa Mom. Therefore, Villa Mom is positioned as "the first postpartum care hotel in Tokyo operated by a childcare provider."

■ Spatial Design

A villa that embraces, comforts, and melts into your heart.

Villa Mom is not a converted general accommodation or medical facility, but a hotel specifically designed for postpartum care from the outset. From the layout and lighting to the sound environment and temperature control, the design philosophy is consistently guided by considerations for the physical and mental well-being of postpartum women.
Based on the theme of "A special residence for postpartum mothers and their babies," Nomura Co., Ltd. has leveraged its expertise from its previous work in hotels and childcare facilities to create a space design that evokes the hospitality of a resort villa. Furthermore, through interviews with mothers raising children and verification using full-scale furniture mockups, attention has been paid to every detail, such as furniture that makes breastfeeding and holding babies easier, a functional layout specifically designed for postpartum care, and lighting design that gently regulates the body clock, which tends to be disrupted after childbirth. With a space design and services that are attentive to the emotional nuances of each postpartum mother, we offer a special time that transforms the postpartum period from "a time of enduring and suffering" to "a time of recovery, rejuvenation, and becoming a family."

Guest Rooms
This private space is unified by warm tones that gently envelop the mind of new mothers and naturally uplift their spirits. It employs a lighting and color adjustment system that focuses on the 24-hour circadian rhythm (body clock), supporting quality sleep and a refreshing awakening through the use of light. The guest rooms feature a functional station integrating a washbasin and minibar, designed to facilitate baby care and daily self-care.

Left: Baby room
While offering safe, clean, and functional features, this space avoids the impersonal, hospital-like atmosphere, creating a comfortable and inviting environment. Particular attention has been paid to the design of the symbolic bathing area, ensuring that the first experience becomes a cherished memory for the family.

Right: Dining room
This spacious dining area, enveloped in earthy tones that evoke the energy of birth, offers a sense of openness. The layout is carefully designed to minimize eye contact with surrounding tables, ensuring a relaxing atmosphere. The ever-changing lighting gently marks the rhythm of each day.

left: reception
The soft, curving lines of the plaster wall are inspired by the lines of a mother's hands gently embracing her baby. 3 A mailbox for mailing letters to one's child years from now serves as a reception desk to welcome visitors.

right: Lounge
The ceiling lighting, which feels like light streaming in from a skylight, and the lush greenery create a comfortable atmosphere that makes you feel like you're outdoors. The seating area, perfect for relaxing around a baby, is also ideal for spending time with family and friends.

Left: Shampoo room
This is a private room where you can enjoy a professional head spa, shampoo, and blow-dry. Experience a refreshing time to soothe your scalp tension and relieve postpartum fatigue with expert techniques.

Right: Meditation room
Through programs such as mindfulness and self-yoga, you can escape from the hustle and bustle of everyday life and enjoy a moment to regulate your breathing deeply.
