The Fukuoka Building, completed in 1954 in the heart of Tenjin, Fukuoka, was rebuilt as "ONE FUKUOKA BLDG." on April 24, 2025, taking advantage of the relaxation of volume and height restrictions under the "Tenjin Big Bang" redevelopment promotion policy by Fukuoka City. With the concept of "Creative Crossroads MEETS DIFFERENT IDEAS," "ONE FUKUOKA BLDG." emphasizes the creation of new businesses and culture, aiming to lead the Tenjin area of Fukuoka as "a city where visitors and workers take the lead in enjoying creativity and culture." In this special issue, we will explore a part of Fukuoka's strategy and prospects as it aims to become a leading city in Asia by introducing "ONE FUKUOKA BLDG." from various perspectives, including urban life, human activities, and manufacturing technology.
