NOMURA Co.,Ltd. has been the overall producer of the new dolphin and sea lion ocean live performance "WOOOOARAI! - The story of an encounter begins here" (starting Thursday, March 12th) at Aquaworld Ibaraki Oarai Aquarium, which has undergone its first major renovation since opening, and the new ocean night live performance "FLOW A LIFE - The pulsating sea of life" (starting Saturday, March 14th) at the nighttime aquarium "NIGHT AQUAWORLD."

At the Dolphin and Sea Lion Ocean Live "WOOOOARAI! - The story of our encounter begins here," the animals will perform their "twin jump" for the first time, jumping in unison.
Furthermore, the production will utilize the giant screen in the Ocean Theater and multiple perspectives from live cameras installed in various locations, creating a blend of the real world and the world of the story.

The new ocean night live performance, "FLOW A LIFE - The Pulsating Sea of Life," is a fantastical evening-only performance that combines living creatures with video, sound, and lighting in the nighttime ocean.

For this project, NOMURA Co.,Ltd. was responsible for the overall production of the program, including creating the space and handling the overall planning and direction.
The choreography, composition, and direction were reconsidered from scratch, and reconstructed as a new experience unique to Aqua World Ibaraki Oarai Aquarium. In addition to designing the overall story of the program, the lighting effects were designed from the ground up, and the changes in light that are linked to the movements bring out the charm of the creatures in a more dramatic way.
Furthermore, a new LED transparent display has been introduced, allowing the video and the actual performance to overlap, creating an immersive performance that brings the entire space together.
This original program will provide you with a deeper, more memorable experience.
Additionally, Naked Inc., a creative company active across a wide range of genres under the philosophy of "Core Creativity, Total Creativity, and Borderless Creativity," participated in the planning, direction, and production of the video software and program.

 

About "WOOOOARAI! -A story of encounters that begins here-" 

The strength of Dolphin & Sea Lion Ocean Live, which has captivated many visitors since its opening, is the realism of being able to experience up close the dynamic performances of the bottlenose dolphins and the comical antics of the California sea lions.Another attraction is the sense of unity that arises from the animals' high physical abilities and the trusting relationship with the trainers.
In this renewal, we have refined these strengths and reconstructed the Dolphin and Sea Lion Ocean Live as a "story of encounters." Rather than simply a series of performances, the show has evolved into a structure in which encounters between the animals, trainers, and audiences progress as a single story.

[Key points of the renewal]

・First performance of "twin jumps" in which creatures synchronize with each other 
The climax is a joint performance by bottlenose dolphins and California sea lions.
As the venue comes together as one, the creatures will perform "twin jumps" in which they jump in unison in unison.

・Large screens will be installed to enhance the appeal of the Dolphin and Sea Lion Ocean Live.
A large screen measuring 5 meters high and 9 meters wide has been newly installed in front of the Ocean Theater, enhancing the dolphin and sea lion ocean live show. Visuals depicting the underwater world and narrative-driven staging will convey the appeal of the performance in a richer way.

The new ocean night live performance, "FLOW A LIFE - The Pulsating Sea of Life," is a fantastical evening-only performance set in the night ocean, where creatures, images, sound, and lighting come together to create a magical scene.
The visual effects, which respond to the movements of the sea lions and dolphins, express the world of "tides" where warm and cold currents meet.
While the daytime Dolphin and Sea Lion Ocean Live is structured to highlight the individuality of each animal, the nighttime performance allows you to experience a rich story of how the lives meet, resonate with each other, and unfold into one unified landscape, allowing you to feel the heartbeat of the ocean up close.
