Powerlifter Tetsuo Nishizaki (affiliated with NOMURA Co.,Ltd.) won the 26th All Japan Para Powerlifting International Invitational Championships and set a new Japanese record.

Tetsuo Nishizaki, a powerlifter affiliated with NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. (Men's 49kg class, Rio de Janeiro 2016 Paralympic Games participant), competed in the 49kg class at the 26th All Japan Para Powerlifting International Invitational Championships held on January 17, 2026. He won the competition with a tournament record of 146kg, setting a new Japanese record.
This allowed us to record the following:

・13th victory at the All Japan Powerlifting Championships (since 2013)
・Improved personal best
・Set a new Japanese record (updated with 146 kg in the third attempt)

Nishizaki has also been selected to represent Japan at the 2026 Asia-Oceania Championships, which is considered an important international tournament in the development and training process leading up to the 2028 Los Angeles Paralympics.

Thank you for your continued support. Following on from the last tournament, I was able to break the Japanese record and win this tournament. Thanks to the cheers of my teammates who came to support me at the venue and everyone who supports me on a regular basis, I was able to take on my third attempt with confidence and break the record.

I will continue to work hard to achieve my next goal of successfully attempting 147kg, three times the weight of the 49kg class, and to compete in the Los Angeles 2028 Paralympic Games. I hope you will continue to support me.
