On September 2, 2025, the BANDAI HOBBY CENTER PLAMO DESIGN INDUSTRIAL INSTITUTE MUSEUM (abbreviated as BHCPDII MUSEUM), a museum where visitors can experience the planning and development of plastic models, opened within the new Bandai Hobby Center, BANDAI SPIRITS' plastic model production factory in Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture.

The museum's theme is "A hub for showcasing the appeal of manufacturing," and visitors can tour the new factory and experience being a "plastic model designer" themselves.
Furthermore, displays showcases the know-how and dedication cultivated over more than 50 years of plastic model manufacturing, as well as the latest technologies that support product quality, making it a place where people of all ages can enjoy learning about manufacturing.

In this project, we, together with BANDAI SPIRITS, were comprehensively involved in everything from planning, designing, and construction displays and content within the facility, to the facility's operational plan.
To realize BANDAI SPIRITS' museum concept and ideas, which reflect their "love for plastic models," and to convey the little-known dedication to manufacturing shown by the factory workers, we utilized our spatial implementation capabilities and displays concept design expertise in creating the facility.

To realize BANDAI SPIRITS' facility concept of "changing the way people see plastic models," visitors can experience the plastic model manufacturing process through displays using real molding machines and molds used in the factory, which are not usually on display.
Furthermore, through approachable graphics and displays, visitors can learn about BANDAI SPIRITS' commitment to craftsmanship, which is the essence of plastic models, as well as the evolution and challenges of their technology. Visitors will also have the opportunity to experience being a plastic model designer, allowing them to discover a new side to plastic models.
With this, we aim to create a place that will give people a chance to enjoy plastic model kits from a different perspective than before.

*The official name is "BANDAI HOBBY CENTER PLAMO DESIGN INDUSTRIAL INSTITUTE MUSEUM"

About the new Bandai Hobby Center factory

The new Bandai Hobby Center factory began operations on Thursday, July 24, 2025, with the aim of ensuring a stable production system.
BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd. has been strengthening its plastic model production capabilities by expanding the new BANDAI Hobby Center (which began operations in December 2020) and through cooperation with group companies and partner companies.
By comprehensively utilizing these resources and the production capacity of the new factory, it is expected that when the new factory begins full-scale operation in fiscal 2026, it will be possible to increase overall production by approximately 35% compared to fiscal 2023.

About Bandai Hobby Center

The Bandai Hobby Center was completed in 2006 in Naganuma, Aoi Ward, Shizuoka City, Shizuoka Prefecture as a plastic model production base for BANDAI SPIRITS Co., Ltd.
We plan, develop, and produce a wide variety of plastic model products, including the Gunpla series.
We use our own original molding machine, a four-color injection molding machine (a type of multi-color molding machine), which can mold four colors and four different materials simultaneously into one mold, in order to make plastic models easier to make and to reproduce the coloring after assembly.
The company is also actively working on environmental initiatives such as the Gunpla Recycling Project and reducing electricity consumption, with 1,080 solar panels installed in the new factory and a total of 1,858 solar panels installed throughout the Bandai Hobby Center.
