NOMURA Co.,Ltd. 's "Future Creation Research Institute" and Dentsu's spatial concept design team "Ba to Henshu" will hold the first session of their open research program "BA?" on Monday, November 25th in Roppongi, Tokyo.

The Future Creation Institute is our creative research institution, conducting various R&D activities to update the value of space. Place & Editing is Dentsu's specialized team that emphasizes real "places" and "experiences," concept design brands from a story-driven and sustainable perspective.

In "BA?", members with different areas of expertise will discuss the concept of "place" through dialogue based on their own work and experiences. The theme of the first session will be "Planning, business and place-making." The second session is scheduled for January 2025.

Kazuya Shogata
Dentsu Inc.
Sustainability Consulting Office, Business Producer and Editor

Joined Dentsu in 2006. After handling numerous program content planning, event planning, and production projects as a broadcasting station representative, she moved to the sales department, where she was in charge of many national brands for beverage manufacturers. In addition to communication, she has also worked extensively in business concept design areas such as new product development and value chain reform. In 2018, she participated in the launch of Dentsu Business concept design Square. She specializes in projects that focus particularly on human relationships, such as product development through open innovation among clients, new business development, work style reform and office reform and the accompanying internal reform projects, and new graduate recruitment projects. She has been in her current position since 2023. Within the sustainability field, she is particularly exploring sustainable worlds that start and center on people.

Ryusuke Minami
Dentsu Inc.
Chief Architect/Creative Director, Sustainability Consulting Office Space and Editing

Graduated from Keio University in 2007. During her university years, she belonged to Professor Shigeru Ban's seminar. She handles all aspects of projects, from initial planning and design to public relations, including spatial design, branding, and product development. Her past works include planning and spatial concept design for the Rosanjin exhibition in Paris, planning and editing for "IKKOAN," a collection of Japanese confectionery works from Japan, France, and the UK, direction for the Toyohashi roadside station, and the rebranding of the Tsukiji outer market. She values actively researching and developing the nature of a place through hands-on work. In 2016, she was selected for the Ministry of Foreign Affairs' Japan Brand Promotion Project and gave a lecture in Europe.

Keita Aono

In 1999, he joined NOMURA Co.,Ltd. While focusing on spaces such as specialty stores, hotels, cafes, restaurants, and commercial facilities, he has also been involved in projects such as the Olympic torch and the Japan Pavilion at the World Expo. He handles a wide range of projects, from large-scale spaces to small product concept design. In 2014, he began collaborating with Oki Sato of nendo on individual projects, and in 2016, he launched "onndo" and served as its representative. Since 2020, he has been the representative of NOMURA Co.,Ltd., Ltd.'s creative team "no.10" while also serving as a member of the Institute for Future Creation. He constantly asks himself, "What is essential?" and works on creating spaces with the motto of "cherishing things from beginning to end."


Shoko Miyazaki
NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd.
Creative Division, Future Creation Institute, Planner/Branding Director

Joined NOMURA Co.,Ltd. in 2016. After gaining experience in corporate communication facilities, new business planning, and rebranding, she currently works as a creative outsourcing provider, focusing on planning and branding for hospitality spaces such as inns, hotels, and membership-based salons. Her distinctive feature is her cross-functional planning that bridges the gap between business language and creative language, and she excels at participating in the construction of creative solutions that are incorporated into business strategies.

As a member of the Future Creation Research Institute, he regularly visits businesses in specific fields, such as wellness businesses, and conducts unique analysis that links them to urbanity. By gaining insight into the essential needs that differ from city to city and exploring how they are embodied in business, he uses this as a practical guideline for planning and branding.
