What is the private park “AKICHIDE PARK”?
"AKICHIDE PARK" is a private park that utilizes vacant land on private land in the Nagano shopping district. You can try out a variety of things, from activities in the park to cafes, events, and local businesses. We aim to create a park that will be loved for a long time, serving as a community park on weekdays where people can gather as they please, and on weekends as a venue for events involving local organizations and businesses. We will foster vibrancy in the Nagano shopping district and surrounding area while sharing with everyone the many activities that can only be done in a private park.

About Nagano Shopping District
Nagano Shopping Street, located in front of Kawachinagano Station, used to be crowded with many people, especially during New Year's Day, so busy that people would bump into each other every time they walked. Currently, commercial buildings and station plazas have been developed around Kawachinagano Station in the central city area through urban redevelopment projects, but the Nagano shopping district, which used to be the center of commerce, has seen an increase in vacant lots and vacant stores. The revitalization of the Nagano shopping district plays an important role in revitalizing the area around the station.

About the park concept and concept design

Try it for the first time and think about it while doing it. ``AKICHIDE PARK'' is a park that is created and nurtured together with the town and everyone who visits the park. We are opening the park in the hope that this will bring new life to the Nagano shopping district and in front of Kawachinagano Station. In the future, we aim to revitalize the shopping district in front of the station through the park and create a town where children can feel at ease, and we will continue to take on challenges with one of our missions being to increase the functions and stores that are lacking in the current station front. .

park concept design
The symbol of "AKICHIDE PARK" is the camphor tree. The camphor tree, which is over 1000 years old, has been selected as the tree of Kawachinagano City. This camphor tree was planted in the center of the park as a landmark of the park and a symbol of the plaza that grows with the area. In addition, wood furniture shaped like the letters ``AKICHIDE'' will serve as a link to various activities.

June 2023 Started vacant land utilization experiment “AKICHIDE LAB”
In early summer, as part of our activities, we conducted a vacant land utilization experiment on a vacant lot in the Nagano shopping district. We continually held events and workshops to rediscover, edit, and share the hidden charms of the region.

March 2024 “AKICHIDE PARK” opens
``AKICHIDE PARK'' is opened, turning a vacant lot into a permanent private park. We aim to create a future vision for the shopping district and the area, where children and families who have lived far away will want to use the shopping district, where living with a shopping district will be fun, and where the shopping district will be updated while adapting to the times. First, we will start a new challenge from an empty lot.
