NOMURA Co., Ltd. is conducting a social experiment "Marunouchi Street Park 2023 Summer" (sponsored by Marunouchi I am in charge of the general planning partner and operation of the Street Park 2023 Executive Committee *).
"Marunouchi Street Park" has been held since 2019 as a social experiment to verify the future of Marunouchi Nakadori and how to use it, and this is the eighth time. This year, which is the fifth year, we will continue from 2022 to create a high-quality space that is easy to "stay" and "walk around" for workers and visitors to the area. We create bustle in the area. This year, in particular, we will focus on building a safe security system using security cameras, verifying management methods and installations with an eye to future plazas and park-like spaces, creating venues for street music performances, and improving road spaces through attracting promotions. We will work to secure earnings.

*Park Street Tokyo: From 2020, local organizations and local wards will promote efforts to create a town where people can enjoy walking by utilizing road space, etc., in order to promote town development from cars to people. In cooperation with others, we are publicizing and disseminating in an integrated manner.
Block 1: "Stay" (in front of Marunouchi Building, Nippon Yusen Building, Mitsubishi Corporation Building)
Block2: "Enjoy" (in front of the Marunouchi Nichome Building and Marunouchi Nakadori Building)
The street piano, which is played by many people every year, will be installed this year with decorations that create a stage-like atmosphere.
From August 19th (Saturday), there will also be performances by local workers and visitors.
Outdoor seating will also be available at the Marunouchi Nakadori Building restaurant GARB Tokyo and the Pariaccio Marunouchi Nakadori store, where you can enjoy your meal with high-quality music.
Block 3: "Try" (in front of Marunouchi Park Building and Meiji Yasuda Seimei Building)
A swing “ONE TEAM SWING!” with the uniform concept design of the Japanese national rugby players participating in the world tournament held this year will be installed throughout the period. There will also be a “Rugby Table” inspired by a rugby ball and a “Handprint Bench” decorated with the handprints of rugby players. In addition, both artificial grass and natural grass are laid on this block, and it will be a space where you can relax comfortably with the provided picnic sheets.
Mitsubishi Estate supports the Japan national rugby team
Last year, Marunouchi Street Park introduced artificial turf, and this year, both natural turf (135m2) and artificial turf (315m2) will be installed, and the maintenance and management of the lawn and its impact on the environment will be verified.
Zeon Zoishia is used for the natural turf, and turf for supplementary planting is prepared in the backyard to reduce waste due to withering. Also, in the past, it was moved to the roof of the New Tokyo Building after the exhibition, but this time we plan to reuse it for compost. The artificial turf uses “Spack Turf® TECHNO Heat Reflect®” manufactured by Toray Amtex Co., Ltd. During the exhibition, we plan to collect the artificial turf using a sweeper and measure the amount of turf wear to understand the actual situation regarding the outflow of artificial turf.
Block 3: About natural turf and artificial turf
During the exhibition period, the OMY Community Development Council and Panasonic Holdings Co., Ltd. will provide a product sales service using an automatic transport robot (Hakobo ® manufactured by Panasonic Holdings Co., Ltd.). It runs on the sidewalks and roadways of Marunouchi Naka-dori, stops at specific sales points, and sells goods, food and drink, etc. linked to the rugby momentum building event unattended.
