NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. is the overall planning partner and operator of "Marunouchi Street Park 2023 Summer" (organized by the Marunouchi Street Park 2023 Executive Committee *), a social experiment that examines the ideal form of urban plazas and park-like spaces, which has been underway on Marunouchi Nakadori since July 27, 2023 (Thursday).
"Marunouchi Street Park" is a social experiment that has been running since 2019 to examine the future direction and utilization of Marunouchi Nakadori, and this is its eighth iteration. In its fifth year, this year, continuing from 2022, the project aims to create a high-quality space that encourages people to "linger" and "stroll" around, thereby revitalizing the Otemachi, Marunouchi, and Yurakucho area. In particular, this year we will focus on establishing a secure security system with surveillance cameras, verifying operational methods and installations with a view to future plaza and park-like spaces, creating venues for music performances on the street, and securing revenue from the road space through promotional activities.

Block 1: "Stay" (in front of Marunouchi Building, Nippon Yusen Building, Mitsubishi Corporation Building)
Block2: "Enjoy" (in front of the Marunouchi Nichome Building and Marunouchi Nakadori Building)
The street piano, which is played by many people every year, will be installed this year with decorations that create a stage-like atmosphere.
From August 19th (Saturday), there will also be performances by local workers and visitors.
Outdoor seating will also be available at the Marunouchi Nakadori Building restaurant GARB Tokyo and the Pariaccio Marunouchi Nakadori store, where you can enjoy your meal with high-quality music.
Block 3: "Try" (in front of Marunouchi Park Building and Meiji Yasuda Seimei Building)
A swing called "ONE TEAM SWING!" featuring the uniform concept design of the Japanese national rugby team players competing in this year's World Championships will be installed throughout the event. In addition, a "rugby table" inspired by a rugby ball and a "handprint bench" adorned with the handprints of rugby players will also be available. This area will feature both artificial and natural grass, creating a relaxing space where visitors can unwind with the provided picnic blankets.
Mitsubishi Estate supports the Japan national rugby team
Last year, Marunouchi Street Park introduced artificial turf, and this year, both natural turf (135m2) and artificial turf (315m2) will be installed, and the maintenance and management of the lawn and its impact on the environment will be verified.
Zeon Zoishia is used for the natural turf, and turf for supplementary planting is prepared in the backyard to reduce waste due to withering. Also, in the past, it was moved to the roof of the New Tokyo Building after the exhibition, but this time we plan to reuse it for compost. The artificial turf uses “Spack Turf® TECHNO Heat Reflect®” manufactured by Toray Amtex Co., Ltd. During the exhibition, we plan to collect the artificial turf using a sweeper and measure the amount of turf wear to understand the actual situation regarding the outflow of artificial turf.
Block 3: About natural turf and artificial turf
During the exhibition period, the OMY Community Development Council and Panasonic Holdings Co., Ltd. will provide a product sales service using an automatic transport robot (Hakobo ® manufactured by Panasonic Holdings Co., Ltd.). It runs on the sidewalks and roadways of Marunouchi Naka-dori, stops at specific sales points, and sells goods, food and drink, etc. linked to the rugby momentum building event unattended.
