Science Park/Noshiro City Children's Museum | Space-themed renewal NOMURA is in charge of design, layout, interior execution

NOMURA Co., Ltd. was in charge of design, layout of the science park and Noshiro City Children's Museum, sign and graphic concept design, environmental features, exhibit execution, interior execution.

In response to a request from Noshiro City, which has the Noshiro Rocket Test Site, one of JAXA's affiliated research facilities, to create a space where people can experience the "space town of Noshiro," experiments such as rocket engines and reusable rockets were carried out. I concept design it using motifs typical of Noshiro where there is a place. In addition, by using Akita cedar, one of the representative materials of Akita Prefecture, at key points, we were able to add concept design unique to the region. We have incorporated hands-on devices that elementary school students can enjoy, such as a net playground equipment that uses an atrium, a vacuum device that can be used for experiments, and an air table.

It has become an displays room where children and adults alike can enjoy and experience “Space Town Noshiro”. Visitors exclaimed, "Wow!", and the children were fascinated by the various displays and enthusiastically experienced them. In addition, the renewal of the 1st floor displays room has greatly increased the number of visitors to the 2nd floor displays room where models of rockets and satellites cooperating with JAXA are displays, and the effect of inviting visitors to the 2nd floor is more than expected. We would like to put more effort into space education in the future by making use of displays room that has been renewed this time.
