Science Park Noshiro City Children's Museum | Renewed with a space theme; NOMURA Co.,Ltd. handled design, layout, interior execution

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. was responsible for design, layout, signage and graphic concept design, environmental features, exhibit execution, interior execution of the Science Park and Noshiro City Children's Museum.

As Noshiro City is home to the Noshiro Rocket Experiment Site, one of JAXA's affiliated research facilities, the city requested a renovation to create a space where visitors could experience "Noshiro, the City of Space." Therefore, concept design incorporates motifs characteristic of Noshiro, such as rocket engines and reusable rockets. Furthermore, the use of Akita cedar, one of Akita Prefecture's representative materials, in key areas added a unique regional touch. The concept design also includes interactive features that elementary school children can enjoy, such as net playground equipment utilizing the open atrium, a vacuum experimentation device, and an air table.

displays room has become a place where people of all ages, from children to adults, can truly experience "Noshiro, the City of Space." Visitors have been exclaiming "amazing," and children have been captivated by the various displays and are enthusiastically engaging with them. Furthermore, the renovation of the first-floor displays room has led to a significant increase in visitors to the second-floor displays room, which displays rocket and satellite models in cooperation with JAXA, exceeding our expectations in encouraging people to go upstairs. We hope to further strengthen our efforts in space education by utilizing this newly renovated displays room.
