Koshimizu Town's disaster prevention base complex government building "Watashino" will hold an opening event on May 28

In Koshimizu-cho, Hokkaido, Koshimizu-cho's disaster prevention base complex government building "Watashino", which is being promoted through public-private partnership, will open on May 28, 2023. The opening event will be held from 1:00 pm on May 28th. In addition to facility tours such as the fitness area, laundry classes and cafe tasting sessions are held. NOMURA Co., Ltd. will participate as a partner company, and will be in charge of planning the bustling area and concept design the space/VI along with PR for the opening.

In Koshimizu-cho, Hokkaido, Koshimizu-cho's disaster prevention base complex government building "Watashino", which is being promoted through public-private partnership, will open on May 28, 2023. Watashino is Japan's first multifunctional facility attached to a government office*1, and has introduced a phase-free*2 concept. As a place open to the community, we have a community space, cafe, laundry, fitness gym & studio, and "Nigiwai Hiroba" with a bouldering wall. The opening event will be held from 1:00 pm on May 28th. Birthplace of Calbee Potato Chips | Koshimizu Town
In 1975, Calbee's first potato chip manufacturing began in Koshimizu-cho. At first, we had a series of troubles and had a bitter experience, but all the employees were burning with fighting spirit to make the new product a success. We sell a variety of potato chips now, but the first step was taken from Koshimizu Town.

Equipment outline
"Watashino" is a complex government building that integrates the Koshimizu town disaster prevention base type government building with the exchange and health center where the townspeople can spend their daily lives comfortably. Introduced the concept of phase-free, which is the first in Japan as a multifunctional facility attached to the town hall. It also functions as a disaster prevention base in the event of a disaster. The usual bustling place of relaxation will be transformed into a place that can provide the safety and security of the townspeople in the event of a disaster.
