NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. aims to create sustainable well-being spaces in offices, public facilities, and commercial buildings where people can live healthy and happy lives, both physically and mentally. This time, they have announced a spatial DX service that uses their proprietary "emograf*" technology to analyze and utilize data on users' well-being states by inferring emotions such as smiles.
This service is expected to improve satisfaction through spatial evaluation and improvement aimed at revitalizing communication, and to create new value through the creation of content that visualizes emotions and its use in marketing.

 

<Features and future prospects of Emograph>
emografis a non-contact system that uses a 360-degree camera to capture facial expressions without any physical burden on the user, and to estimate and visualize emotions in real time. The data is acquired in a comprehensive manner, including determining gender and age group, and simultaneously capturing the facial expressions of multiple people. By also using pedestrian flow analysis, it is possible to capture the entire space from multiple angles and understand how people move and behave based on emotions.
Our company proposes revitalizing spaces by utilizing data in spatial concept design, operation, and presentation, thereby enriching communication while being attentive to users' emotions and encouraging positive behavioral change. Based on the results of the pilot experiment conducted in February, we will further develop service concept design with the aim of providing them to facilities.
(As part of our R&D activities, this service underwent a field test at NOMURA Co.,Ltd. RESET SPACE_2 from February 6th to February 17th, 2023. The results of the experiment are scheduled to be released in April.)

*emograf: A service planned and produced by NOMLAB, the innovation laboratory of NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. Group. It analyzes people's facial expressions to visualize the emotions in a space, such as the atmosphere and excitement of the moment. It acquires and analyzes facial expressions in real time. It realizes visualization effects through data analysis and digital expression. The prototype created in 2018 was a joint production with One To Ten Co., Ltd.
- Various recognition functions, such as facial recognition, using an AI camera are provided by "QURIOS CAMERA" from One To Ten Co., Ltd.

 

 

<Expected usage scenarios>
1. Application to well-being spaces:The results of emotion prediction analysis can be used as evidence to improve interiors concept design and layout, and to reflect them in operational plans. This can be used for evaluating corporate well-being management and health management indicators, and for revitalizing facilities. It can also be used in conjunction with pedestrian flow analysis.
2. Application to content production: This includes using it to elicit smiles from users and to improve customer experience value through emotionally engaging presentations.
