NOMURA Co.,Ltd. 's Social Good Activities: Participation in a Regional Revitalization Project Utilizing the Metaverse - "Construction of the Kameoka City Digital Cultural Archives"

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. (Head Office: Minato-ku, Tokyo; Representative Director President and CEO Shuji Enomoto; hereinafter referred to as NOMURA Co.,Ltd., Ltd.) will participate in the "Kameoka City Digital Cultural Museum Construction Project" in Kameoka City, Kyoto Prefecture, which has been commissioned by STU Inc. (Head Office: Shibuya-ku, Tokyo; CEO: Takayasu Kuroda; hereinafter referred to as STU), an emerging creative company that handles everything from the development of cutting-edge technologies such as local 5G, XR, and metaverse to spatial design and content creation utilizing the technologies it has developed.

 

This project, a collaboration between STU and NOMURA Co.,Ltd., will focus on "life and history inside and outside Kameyama Castle town," "the connection between the Hozugawa River and the ancient capital of Kyoto," and "Kokubunji Temple and Buddhist culture." It will involve designing a space that allows visitors to experience time travel, including the reconstruction of Kameyama Castle, which was blown up and destroyed during the Taisho era, in a metaverse space. In addition, facilities such as a digital cultural archive will be created within this space to convey its charm. Production activities are progressing with the aim of opening in the spring of 2023. NOMURA Co.,Ltd. will contribute primarily to the metaverse space concept design, drawing on the knowledge and know-how cultivated through its track record in museums, archives, and art galleries.
