We are pleased to announce that the "Sakitsu-Imatomi Cultural Landscape Development" project, for NOMURA Co.,Ltd. assisted in landscape concept design, has been awarded the "Good concept design Best 100" in the 2022 Good concept design Awards (organized and managed by the Japan Institute of Design Promotion).

Landscape Creation [Sakitsu-Imatomi Cultural Landscape Development] Project

Overview: This project involved concept design and management of a series of public works projects in the Sakitsu district of Amakusa City, Kumamoto Prefecture, a fishing village registered as a component of a World Heritage Site, and the adjacent Imatomi district, a mountain village. Over more than 15 public works projects of varying sizes were carried out over a period of more than 10 years, and by incorporating a landscape concept design perspective into all of them, the project aimed to protect and nurture the scenery and way of life while contributing to the creation of a vibrant community.
