NOMURA Co.,Ltd. designed, concept design, and construction "Miwa Komatsu Exhibition: Challenging Taro Okamoto—Spirituality and Mandalas"

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. was in charge of the design, concept design, and construction of the "Miwa Komatsu Exhibition: Challenging Taro Okamoto - Spirituality and Mandalas," which will be held at the Taro Okamoto Museum of Art in Kawasaki City from Saturday, June 25, 2022.
Miwa Komatsu was born in Nagano Prefecture in 1984. Her experiences of witnessing the life and death of living things up close amidst abundant nature have shaped her unique perspective on life and death, leading her to depict motifs inspired by "something invisible," such as messengers of Japanese gods, mythical beasts, and people's prayers. For Komatsu, who believes that "art is medicine that heals the soul," creating artwork is intertwined with prayer and is a "divine ritual." This exhibition will feature a special display of "Next Mandala - Great Harmony," which will be dedicated to Toji Temple (Kyo-o-gokoku-ji, Minami-ku, Kyoto), the head temple of the Shingon sect, in 2023 to commemorate the 1200th anniversary of the founding of the Shingon sect.
