The main highlights of this tournament

This tournament has the longest history in the Japan Para Powerlifting Federation and is the most prestigious tournament held in Japan. It will be an important domestic tournament where a wide range of athletes, from veterans to newcomers, will compete seriously. As this event is accredited by the IPC, it will be reflected in the world rankings for 2022 (January to December 2022). ■ Comment from Nishizaki

There are two years left until 2024. I would like to participate in this year's tournament, which is a pathway to the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, and improve my Para ranking.
In this tournament, we aim to break the Japanese record and win the championship, which is a personal best.

The new coronavirus infection is spreading, but with the understanding and support of many people, we are planning to hold the match even without spectators. thank you very much.

In addition, I would like to express my sincere respect and gratitude to all essential workers, including those who support the medical field and life infrastructure, who are still working hard at the forefront.

I hope that I can be of help to everyone, even if just a little, by turning everyone's support into strength and producing results in matches.

*Regarding the difference between the IPC World Ranking and the Paralympic Ranking (from the federation website)
・The IPC World Ranking is a ranking that reflects the results of all IPC-sanctioned matches. (Fiscal year = January to December) Updated every year.
・Paralympic rankings are rankings in “compulsory competitions (pathway)”. (2022-2024)
(Example) This year's All Japan Championship is an IPC-sanctioned tournament, so it will be reflected in the world rankings.
It is not a mandatory competition (pathway) for the Paris 2024 Paralympic Games, so it will not be reflected in the Paralympic rankings.
For more information, please see the "Pathway to Paris 2024 Paralympic Qualification" and "Required Tournament" on the Powerlifting Federation website.
