NOMURA Co., Ltd. (hereafter, NOMURA) has planned and produced a virtual tour where you can take a walk through a wood production area using the latest 360-degree 3D shooting technology, and announced a new one. This virtual tour is available free of charge on the website of the "Morimachi Door" project in collaboration with the National Federation of Lumber Associations (hereafter referred to as the "National Federation of Lumber Associations").

"Morimachi Door" aims to explore the possibility of high value utilization of timber especially in non-residential buildings (commercial facilities, stores, hotels, offices, etc.) where timber has not been used so much.・A production area experience event was held at three locations nationwide where timber industry business operators and local creators interacted with each other, with 61 participants. The 3D Virtual Tour "Virtual Production Center Experience" allows you to simulate the experience of the production center. A virtual timber production area (Hanno City, Saitama Prefecture, Nishikawa timber production area "Inoue Sanrin") reproduced online can be easily accessed from a computer or smartphone, regardless of time, place, or weather. You can freely walk through 360 degrees, and gain knowledge about trees and forestry with commentary by forester Junji Inoue.

NOMURA, Ltd. and the National Federation of Timber Cooperatives believe that it is important to approach creators and potential users of building owners for the spread of domestic timber in space concept design. For this reason, this virtual tour not only provides a new normal forest experience, but also provides an opportunity to learn about various ways to enjoy the forest, and by creating a point of contact between creators and forestry and timber industry businesses, to stimulate interest in the use of timber. We will work to expand its use. In the future, we can also expect the possibility of contributing to forestry DX (digital transformation) in the fields of marketing and branding by utilizing data.

NOMURA, Ltd. and the National Federation of Lumber Cooperatives will continue to utilize creativity and digital technology to contribute to the realization of a sustainable society connected by space concept design that nurtures forests.
