NOMURA Co.,Ltd., Ltd. announces a new normal spatial experience service using contactless, sound-based AR (augmented reality).

NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. (hereinafter referred to NOMURA Co.,Ltd., Ltd.) announces "oto rea," a contactless sound experience service utilizing augmented reality (AR) for sound. This service was planned and managed by NOMLAB, the innovation laboratory of NOMURA Co.,Ltd. Co., Ltd. group, and developed using the technology of GATARI Inc. (hereinafter referred to as GATARI), an AR/MR startup developing Mixed Reality services. By using this contactless service for personal use in guided tours and experience programs at tourist and cultural facilities, it is possible to not only avoid the four Cs (crowded spaces, close contact, enclosed spaces, and close contact) but also provide a special sound experience that only the user can obtain. It is also expected to be a service that transforms the behavioral changes necessary to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus into added value.
NOMURA Co.,Ltd. has been conducting open innovation research since March 2020 to broadly contribute to society spatial solutions that leverage NOMURA Co.,Ltd. 's expertise and technology in revitalizing space creation, in order to continue providing Delight and Passion through space even in the post-COVID-19 era. This service is the first step in that effort, and we will continue to develop further service concept design with the aim of providing them to facilities in the future.
NOMURA Co.,Ltd. will not only encourage behavioral changes that lead to avoiding the "four Cs" (closed spaces, crowded places, and close-contact settings), but will also use creativity and technology to create sustainable future spatial experience value that surpasses pre-COVID-19 levels, including the expansion of spatial experiences.
