For the 2nd Wood concept design Award 2016 (sponsored by the Wood concept design Award Management Secretariat, supported by the Forestry Agency), we were in charge of creating the space for the Nihonbashi Toyamakan “Wood use that expresses the uniqueness of Toyama.” ” (Client: Toyama Prefecture) won the Forestry Agency Commissioner's Award (Excellence Award) in the Heartful concept design Category.

 

The Wood concept design Award targets all things and things related to "wood" from the three perspectives of enriching people's lives, improving people's concept design, and enriching society. Given.

This year, which is the second time, among 451 entries, 1 Minister of Agriculture, Forestry and Fisheries Award (Best Award), 9 Forestry Agency Commissioner's Award (Excellence Award), and 15 Jury Chairman's Award (Encouragement Award) were selected. it was done.

 

This award was given because of the following points.

・As an antenna shop in Toyama Prefecture, the concept design is based on locally selected and procured timbers in various stages of processing that lie dormant in the production area, and the variations in materials and processing bring out the possibilities of using timber.

・It creates a strong sense of responsibility and attachment to contribute to the region through the process of creating value from Toyama's trees as a limited space that conveys the appeal of the region and utilizes local materials.
