[2016 concept design Award] Won the highest honor, the Grand Prize, at the 35th Display Industry Awards 2016, for the first time in two years

 

Five works, including "The World of Sports," for which NOMURA was in charge of creating the space, were awarded the Grand Prize, Excellence Award, and Encouragement Award at the 35th Display Industry Awards 2016 (sponsored by the Japan Display Federation).

At the awards ceremony held in Tokyo on October 14th, "The World of Sports," whose spatial concept design was handled by our company's Mai Takahashi, was awarded the prestigious Grand Prize as the most outstanding work.

This is the first time in two years that the company has won the Grand Prize, following the "Tohoku Expressway (Inbound) Hanyu Parking Area 'Onihei Edodokoro'" in 2014.
In addition, the Kyoto Railway Museum (concept design: Ryuichi Okuda), which opened in April this year, won an Excellence Award.
In addition, "Active Learning Camp" (concept design: Akane Yamaguchi), "SKY CIRCUS Sunshine 60 Observatory" (concept design: Tamae Takahashi) and "Tokushinkai Quartz Tower" (concept design: Takaaki Tani) were also selected for the Encouragement Award.

■ What is the Display Industry Award?

This is an award sponsored by the Japan Federation of Display Industry Associations, which aims to contribute to the improvement of living culture and the promotion of national landscapes through displays. We aim to promote the display industry and improve social recognition by praising excellent display works and announcing the results. This year, 21 works including the grand prize were selected from among 135 entries.
