Ryutaro Matsuura of NOMURA, Ltd. was selected as the only Japanese designer among 40 designers active in Asia.

At the "40 UNDER 40" award sponsored by the Hong Kong architecture and concept design magazine <<Perspective Perspective Magazine>>, Ryutaro Matsuura of our commercial environment division was selected as a "designer under the age of 40 active in Asia".

 

"40 UNDER 40" is an award that started in 2007. Every year, designers under the age of 40 who are notable in the fields of interior, architecture, products, art, etc. We have selected 40 people from the viewpoint of evaluation.

 

This year, the 9th Awards Ceremony was held on April 28th at the Pacific Coffee Emporium in Hong Kong, and about 150 people, including designers and media representatives, attended from Hong Kong and other Asian countries. Matsuura was selected in the interior category and is the only Japanese among the 40 winners this year.

 

Matsuura has worked on a wide range of international brand stores, hotels, and showrooms, and in recent years has concept design overseas stores for domestic brands such as Henri Charpentier (Singapore) and white essence (Taiwan). However, the field of activity is expanding to Asia. In 2012, he was selected as the “JCD Kansai Best Designers Award” for those under 40 years old by the JCD (Japan Commercial environmental design Association), a commercial space concept design association. Received the nomination award (silver award) at the design award "NEST AWARD". And he was the first Japanese to win the award. His work has been highly praised both in Japan and abroad, and has been featured in many media outlets. He is also working to revitalize the display industry through lectures and lectures at concept design and universities. We are looking forward to more and more success in the future.
