Tetsuo Nishizaki (49kg class, competed in the Rio 2016 Paralympic Games) a powerlifter affiliated with NOMURA Co., Ltd., participated in the 49kg class competition at the 3rd Challenge Cup Kyoto held on October 3, 2020. He won the competition with a tournament record of 136kg and set a new Japanese record of 138kg.

This allowed me to record the following:

・Updated personal best and Japanese record in 49kg class (succeeded in all 4 attempts)

・"Challenge Cup Kyoto" 3 consecutive victories

I would like to express my heartfelt gratitude to everyone who supported us.

<Comment from Nishizaki>

Thank you for your support. It was the first official tournament in eight months to prevent the spread of the new coronavirus infection, and it was a match without spectators, but the encouragement of everyone who supported us remotely was a strength. In addition, I was able to carry out the match calmly. We were able to achieve three goals: The final special attempt wasn't satisfactory, but I think that what I set goals for in the company's training room and built up every day led to the improvement in the record and the results.

We would like to express our gratitude to all of you who continue to support us even under these circumstances.
