overview

This is a project of GOOD HEALTH CAFETERIA and INTERNATIONAL CAFETERIA located within Tokyo International University adjacent to Sunshine City in Ikebukuro. Our company was in charge of interiors concept design, building execution in order to enrich the living space where students spend most of their days and create a comfortable environment where they can not only eat and drink but also engage in a variety of activities. The two cafeterias provide an environment where students can naturally gather, learn about each other's cultures through healthy Japanese food and food from around the world, and encourage interaction, creating a place that will become a new base for campus life. I aimed for it.

Issues/requests

In addition to enhancing the image of the Ikebukuro campus, we want to create a cafeteria that has the dignity of a place of learning and serves as a place for international exchange that is typical of Tokyo International University. Additionally, there were requests for a comfortable open space where students could naturally gather, a cafeteria that would help students grow mentally and physically, and a lively place where students, faculty, staff, and the local community could interact. there was.

solution

Based on the concept of ``a cafeteria that pleases the mind and body,'' we have created a comfortable space that connects the inside and outside of the cafeteria by incorporating earth-toned louvers that gently connect to the outdoor park and a triangular lattice as a concept design motif. By comprehensively concept design interiors, furniture, and signage so that it can be used not only for eating and drinking, but also outside business hours, we have made it possible to hold a variety of activities, such as conversations between classes and small-group seminars. .
