overview

Through research in the new academic field of "neurointelligence," which is a fusion of life science, medicine, linguistics, mathematical science, and information science, we will learn about the "intelligent brain," or our brains, and realize the amazing power of our own "brains," of which we are usually unaware. We will also explore the great potential of the brain by gaining new perspectives on "intelligence" from cutting-edge research, and by exploring what kind of ideal future image can be created through the fusion of brain research and artificial intelligence (AI) research. displays

Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests
The challenge was to develop the project into an activity that would lead to funding while aiming for outreach that would reach a wide range of people, from those interested in science to the general public, and in the future, to connect it to international outreach activities with a view to overseas expansion.

Objectives
To share the significance and the real pleasure of research by encouraging researchers and visitors to think about "neurointelligence" together.
To share the significance and thrill of research with visitors, and to encourage young people to become interested in "neurointelligence" and science by experiencing the joy of learning about themselves through the "intelligent brain".
To contribute to the global outreach activities of the International Research Center for Neurointelligence (IRCN) at the University of Tokyo regarding the need for basic research in science and technology.
Based on these objectives, a solution was considered.

[Solution.
Toward outreach of cutting-edge scientific research results, planners and designers, together with researchers, asked "What is neurointelligence?" What is the worldview that IRCN is aiming for? and "What kind of worldview does IRCN aspire to?" and through repeated discussions, the displays project was materialized.
In the process, we have built into displays not just a display of research results, but a mechanism to communicate the results of cutting-edge science that fuses brain science and AI research to the world at large, while creating a community where the general public can get involved in research on an individual level and explore what brain science and AI should be, and to continue to participate in that community. We have built a mechanism into displays to encourage continued participation in the community.
