overview

For this project, in response to the request to create a new store that reflects the characteristics of the location and the live entertainment aspect of monjayaki, our team, which has worked on many theme parks and entertainment facilities, took on the challenge. Focusing on the "value as a food culture" and the "extraordinary experience that stimulates the five senses" of cooking in front of customers using a griddle, "Moheji" opened as a new type of store specializing in an entertaining dining experience. It is a store that offers a completely new dining experience, expressing the famous dishes of 19 countries around the world in 50 kinds of monjayaki.

Issues/requests

After gaining a deep understanding of KISSUI GROUP's vision for a new store, we explored designs and experiences that are unique to this location.
Within the limited space, in addition to securing the required number of seats, we spent considerable time in the initial stages considering the optimal spatial configuration to incorporate design elements that reflect the lineage and characteristics of monjayaki, as well as the essence of the "Moheji" brand, while also taking into account legal and safety considerations. Once the details of the interior became clear through perspectives and sketches, the challenge became not only to establish a detailed worldview, but also to incorporate mechanisms to add more concrete entertainment value and experiential value.

solution

We set the concept as "MONJA WONDER LAND" to create a wondrous, dreamlike town like monjayaki, where you can enjoy a variety of ingredients. Upon entering the restaurant, customers are immersed in the world through a pre-show experience reminiscent of a theme park attraction.
The restaurant is divided into seven areas themed around ingredients, and the zoning is designed so that each area can be viewed from a small plaza. Original sculptures and graphics were created to evoke the history and culture of monjayaki, featuring ingredients with historical significance.
This store offers new discoveries and experiences in each area, no matter how many times you visit.
