We were in charge of this antique watch specialty store with a repair workshop located on Marunouchi Nakadori Street.
Antique watches have been passed down for a long time, carrying the memories and stories of their owners inside them. While they hold memories of times gone by, they also tell stories for the future as they mark new times. concept design theme of the CARESE Marunouchi store is to visualize this invisible "time."
The brass leaf on the wall gradually changes colour, replicating the way brass changes appearance over time, just like an antique watch changes over time.
Additionally, stone is used for the central fixture, expressing the process of how a rough natural appearance is refined, and its rich expression also gives the space a sense of time.
Set amid the sophisticated streets of Marunouchi, our goal is to create a store that will be deeply etched in the memories of all who visit.
In addition to the sales floor, we would like to have a store that includes a repair workshop for watchmakers and a studio for photographing watches.
- The store is moving to a new location and they want to reuse the fixtures they used in the past.
We received requests such as:
We made plans based on the client's requests, with the core of concept design being "designing a space in which the clock takes center stage while expressing the passage of time."
- We designed the store so that the repair workshop can be seen through the glass from inside the store, allowing customers to see how skilled craftsmen breathe new life into watches.
・We also intended to preserve memories beyond time and place by repurposing glass tube cases that had been used in the store in the past.
We have received comments from customers saying that it has a luxurious feel. Overall, it is easy to use.
