AO Gallery

AGC built a new research and development building in the AGC Yokohama Technical Center (Tsurumi Ward, Yokohama City) with a total construction cost of approximately 20 billion yen. A co-creation space “AO (AGC OPEN SQUARE)” was set up in the same research building to accelerate co-creation inside and outside the company, and opened on November 19, 2020.

The highlight of the event was the open area collaborative space "AO," which was based on the concepts of "connect," "create ideas," and "test," and was made up of four spaces: "AO Gallery," displays of collaborative creation with external partners that utilizes AGC's materials and technologies; "AO Park," where users could talk about the products, value, and latest topics that were born from user needs and AGC's seeds; "AO Studio," an displays area where visitors could experience AGC's cutting-edge materials and technologies; and "AO Lab.", a collaborative laboratory where samples were evaluated together with external partners and prototypes were created. We were in charge of planning, concept design, and construction of the collaborative displays in one of these spaces, the AO Gallery.

[Social issues/customer issues/requests]
The request was to create a gallery where visitors could experience the new appeal of AGC through collaborative displays with external partners that utilize AGC's materials and technologies.

【solution】
By combining AGC's state-of-the-art technology and hardware with our creativity, we have provided a space where new glass for the near future can be created through collaborative creation.
