Soba Ikko
overview

This is a project by Soba Ikko, a soba restaurant in Ebisu, Tokyo, where you can enjoy soba-mae, a sophisticated culture that has continued since the Edo period.
The restaurant has a "modern x folk art" theme, with an open kitchen as the central layout. It is located on the first and second floors of "Sreed EBISU+C," a building developed by Sapporo Real Estate Development, and has a store area of approximately 200 m2. We were in charge of the overall interior concept design, schematic design, and design supervision.

Issues/requests

This store is a collaboration between Zetton, a company that manages, develops and consults on restaurants, and Teiji Nakamura, a producer who develops and operates a variety of restaurants, and it was necessary to comprehensively consider the spatial concept design, layout, kitchen concept, menu development, etc. In addition, within the short schedule, we were required to carefully listen to various requests regarding the creation of the store and incorporate them into concept design.

solution

Based on the soba-mae style that has continued since the Edo period, we came up with a new concept of "modern x folk art," and while arranging folk art ideas in a modern way, we incorporated them into the interior concept design. We also aimed to create a store that blends into the Ebisu area while being differentiated from others, with an open kitchen layout that makes the kitchen stand out as the main focus, a focus on authentic materials, artwork, and an exterior planting plan. In addition, we changed concept design taste between the first and second floors, and provided private and semi-private rooms, making the store structure suitable for a variety of occasions.
