LOQUAT Nishiizu

LOQUAT Nishiizu

Located in the Toi district of Nishiizu, the Former Suzuki Residence is a large mansion consisting of a main building and three storehouses, and has been popular as a central presence in the area since the Edo period. Keeping in mind the value of spending time with the beauty of the past, we have renovated each building and exterior as an auberge with two rooms for overnight stays. The floor plan of the main building, which gives a feeling of being closed off, has been reconsidered, and the space has been expanded vertically and horizontally to ensure modern comfort. We wanted to inherit the atmosphere of the past by making the most of the spatial individuality of each of the three storehouses and adding a minimal design. Two of them were renovated into lodging buildings with luxurious outdoor open-air baths, and one of them was a lounge. and a function that also serves as a spa. Combined with surrounding accommodation facilities, we have realized an auberge that blends into the community and is loved. [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] While Toi has long been popular as a hot spring inn area, there are few variations of restaurants, and there are cafes that serve as sightseeing bases and tourism content that makes use of the food resources of Nishiizu. For many years, the lack of excursion consumption by tourists has been a problem. Rather than prioritizing business profitability, the request was that the facility should be of benefit to the region, and that it would continue to be accepted and loved by tourists and local residents. [Solution] At our company, we believe that it is necessary to respect the passage of time that the buildings have accumulated on this land, find out the flavor of each building, and create a design that can turn them into charm. The floor plan was reviewed while considering the structural burden of the existing non-conforming building. , Sannokura respects the taste of each building, such as the two-story vertical spread and the mud wall hidden behind the board wall, and that becomes the charm of each facility itself. [Customer's voice] As a result of the restoration of the former Suzuki residence, which represents the history of Doi, with extremely high-quality design and construction technology in a short delivery time, not only tourists who come to "LOQUAT Nishiizu" but also the local community Residents also visit the museum almost every day, and it has become a place of relaxation that provides a little bit of richness in their daily lives. Day after day, not only the lodging buildings, but also the restaurants, bakeries, and gelaterias are so busy that they continue to be full or sold out. <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Shinya Hiratsuka, Nobuyuki Yagi [Planning] Saki Ninomiya [Design and planning] Norio Koito, Hiroshi Inoue, Tadahiro Nakajima, Ryotaro Tezuka [Production and construction] Atsushi Endo, Takayuki Inoue, Kikuchi field

KADODE OOIGAWA

KADODE OOIGAWA

Experience-based food park of green tea, agriculture, and tourism. It is the largest market in the prefecture, consisting of a market, restaurants, cafes, a kids park, and tenant stores. With the aim of increasing the income of local farmers and creating a hub for regional tourism, it was promoted as a four-party collaboration project by the Oigawa Agricultural Cooperative Association, Shimada City, Oigawa Railway, and Central Nippon Expressway Co., Ltd. We handled everything from basic/implementation planning to design, layout / construction and tenant leasing. In addition, this project was produced by the Tokonatsu Infantry Corps, and we established a design joint venture with our company as the managing company. [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] The keywords are [agricultural development] and [regional development]. This region is one of Japan's leading producers of green tea, and tea farmers have absolute confidence in the quality of their tea. I was. In addition, although there are plenty of tourism resources in the Oigawa Railway and the Oigawa River Basin, there is also the issue of not being able to attract tourists as expected, so there was also the purpose of creating a hub for tourism in this area. We worked on the challenges of creating a place where local farmers can sell their specialty products in an appealing way and sell them with confidence, and create a place where local people can notice the charm of their local area and be proud of it. [Solution] 1. Be loved by the locals. 2. Make the most of local resources. 3. Communicating in an easy-to-understand manner I conveyed the idea of how valuable things are to the local community and farmers, and how attractive they are to people in other regions. By adding entertainment and concept design elements to create a one-of-a-kind experience, we added value and created attractive products and services. A new station on the Oigawa Railway has also been opened, and it has become a big topic for being a commercial complex that had never existed in this area before, and it is crowded with many customers every day. <Our project members> [Sales] Aya Nishimoto, Keisuke Iwasa [Planning] Ryusuke Nomura [design, layout] Noriaki Tamura, Kan Fujimura, Midori Arai [Production and construction] Miyuki Nakamura, Yuki Saiki, Akihiro Yoshida, Hiroshi Udagawa , Hayato Kawatani [Leasing] Aya Nishimoto

PARA HEROes Exhibition

PARA HEROes Exhibition

The "PARA HEROes Exhibition" is an exhibition in which four young artists and creators use the theme of "para table tennis" to express the appeal of the sport and the players, in order to spread the spread of diversity and inclusion to Japan and the world. This is a planned exhibition. As part of NOMURA 's efforts to support activities that lead to the promotion of sports, and also in connection with the "COLORS event one year before the Tokyo 2020 Paralympic Games" held in October 2019, we will provide planning and concept design. Sponsorship was realized in the trial. What did the artist feel when he encountered "para table tennis", what did he think when he tried to incorporate it into his work, and what did he want to convey through the work he created? What I saw from there was a figure that expressed what I saw through each sensibility without stereotypes or preconceptions. We also hope that visitors will break away from their preconceived notions through the expressions of the artists, increase their empathy for parasports, and concept design the works with an open mind. did The elements that make up the space make use of the base material, and the base material associated with each art is also woven. In order to bring out the charm of each piece of art, we were particular about how it was presented. In line with NOMURA Group's goal of "providing added value from an environmental perspective," we concept design this displays so that about 90% of it can be reused. Koikeya GOGO! Factory

Koikeya GOGO! Factory

At the Kyushu Aso Factory, Koikeya's first production base in Kyushu, as one of our efforts to bring smiles to everyone in Kyushu, including Kumamoto, we invite you to experience the history of Koikeya and the commitment we have made since its founding. “Koikeya GOGO! Factory” has been newly established where you can take a tour and experience making original potato chips. Through a factory tour at the Kyushu Aso factory, it is a facility that can appeal the appeal of Koikeya to the local people. [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] Since the town of Mashiki, where the company is located, was damaged by the Kumamoto earthquake, the creation of employment through the operation of the new factory and the production of standard products, including high value-added products. We wanted to lead to the reconstruction and revitalization of the region by producing up to. Among them, as one of the efforts to bring smiles to everyone in Kyushu, including Kumamoto, you can experience the history of Koikeya and the commitment since its founding, while experiencing the factory tour and making original potato chips. A facility was planned. [Solution] In order to convey the image of the new Koikeya, which was rebranded in 2016, as a long-established potato chips store, we used noren curtains at the entrance and named it the “Koikeya Cultural Thought Map.” We have placed a huge graphic that allows you to know the history. In addition, when visitors enter the facility, a bright and white space spreads out, expressing that Koikeya is creating “more delicious” with the spirit of “Ikeike! GOGO!”. Even in the original potato chip making experience, you can experience it in the "Itamae style" using a square-shaped counter, and we emphasized communication with visitors. [Customer's voice] You have produced a high-quality facility in a very short delivery time. They understood our commitment and the corporate image we were aiming for very well, and expressed it in the form of the product. We hope that it will be used effectively as a place for communication with local residents in the future. <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Hitomi Ariga [Planning] Tomoko Yanagihara, Mina Mochizuki [concept design] Noriaki Tamura, Akika Yamada [Graphics] Kishun Daishin [Production] Tomoaki Morita

The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu

The Hotel Seiryu Kyoto Kiyomizu

This is a project that utilizes the former Shimizu Elementary School building, which has a history of about 90 years, in Shimizu, Kyoto, and converts it into a hotel. While inheriting the characteristic design, it has been reborn as a hotel with modern comfort. We were in charge of architectural design supervision, interior design and design, and FF&E design and construction. Shimizu Elementary School is one of the schools that has been highly evaluated for its unique architecture in terms of its location, exterior decoration, and interior design. Based on the hotel's concept of "engraving memories and linking them to the future," we paid the utmost respect to the historical Western architecture and its internal space, and designed it to revive memories while preserving them. In addition, we combined architecture as a new function with the interior space to express nostalgia and newness. [Customer issues/requests] It was necessary to design the hotel so that it would function as a hotel while making the most of the existing historical elementary school architecture. It was also necessary to hold discussions on how the hotel should be accepted in the Kyoto area. [Solution] We worked with creators on everything from architecture, landscape, interior, FF&E, artwork, graphics, uniforms, and every detail to create a completely new and unique space. While the corridors and stairs where elementary school students used to run around are still there, when you open the door of the classroom where the children were studying, you can enter a completely different contemporary world. In order to maximize the value of the existing details that have carved the history of the architecture and interior space, we were particular about materials that complement the materials without insisting on them. The reflection of the material reflected in the semi-gloss enhances the existing architectural design. In addition, we aimed to create a space composition that can only be enjoyed here by harmonizing the total design coordination of artwork, graphics, uniforms, and the interior and FF&E design in a well-balanced manner. <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Toru Moginuki [Design and planning, design supervision] A.N.D.: Ryu Kosaka, Shohei Urata, Hiroki Yasuda / Hiroyuki Nishikawa [FF&E design] A.N. Yamba Lake Station Maruiwa

Yamba Lake Station Maruiwa

This project is one of the projects for the residents of the submerged areas to rebuild their lives and find purpose in life as the Yanba Dam is constructed. For about 6 years, we have been in charge of basic planning, schematic design, working drawings, interior administration, and consulting services to support local operating companies in the "regional development facilities" in the "Kawarayu area" and "Yokobe area". bottom. At the Yokokabe Regional Development Facility, we not only provide facility planning, but also planning including support for the establishment of a management body to be established in the area, attracting new companies, consulting for restaurants operated by residents, menu development, and supervision of operations such as opening equipment.・Produced. The facility concept design is based on the concept of "passing on and developing the memory of the town", and the former Naganohara Town Hall*, which was scheduled to be demolished after more than 90 years since its construction, has been reproduced as a symbol of the district. By creating opportunities to see the history of the town for the children who will be responsible for the district in the future, as well as for the tourists who visit, we designed it so that the new businesses run here will lead to the revitalization, reconstruction, and development of the district. *The old government building, built in 1929, is a two-story wooden structure with a hipped roof. It was said to be the only wooden government building. [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] [Business] Along with the construction of Yamba Dam, residents of the submerged area will rebuild their lives and find purpose in life. I was asked to establish a new business. In addition, it was requested that the facility be differentiated from facilities planned in other districts and similar facilities, and to have the ability to attract customers and originality. [concept design aspect] Make use of the old government building filled with memories of people in some way, consider visibility from a national highway with heavy traffic from the viewpoint of attracting customers, and plan to attract passers-by. It was requested that the plan should be able to take advantage of the panoramic view of the lake with a distant view of the Tsuba Dam in front of it. [Solution] [Business aspect] In order to realize the request, the first priority was to make proposals for the feasibility of business ideas by local residents. The third is to strongly support the establishment of a local management parent company to differentiate the district regional promotion facility from the "district". In this project, we aimed to "open a restaurant" that everyone in the district had no experience with, and promoted it in a way that was close to the characteristics of the region and the business. In particular, we had repeated dialogues about ``searching for characteristics of the Yokokabe district'' and ``utilization of local recipes,'' and worked together to develop menus and promote plans that are closely related to the region. We invited a professional chef for the trial production and tasting event, and supported the local revitalization by raising the awareness of the people in the area, improving the cooking technique, and strengthening the self-reliance. [concept design aspect] As a result of a survey of the existing government building when converting the function from the government building to the lake station, we chose to reproduce it with a modern update while giving consideration to the nostalgia of the former town hall government building. bottom. The retro and distinctive design of the old government building has been recreated and visually appealing. In addition, by creating an open opening facing the Yanba Dam, it has become a place with a top-class view among the facilities around the dam lake. In order to maintain the flavor of the old government building while building in accordance with the current regulations, the structural design was also carefully considered. <Our project members> [Sales and project management] Satoshi Arai, Hitomi Yamamoto [Planning and consulting] Kenichi Sakazume, Yuki Shimokuni [design, layout] NAU: Sakae Kirioka, Nana Osano

The Hamamatsu Children's Museum was opened in November 2001 with the aim of providing children with a place for healthy play, creative experiences, and interaction, and to support the sound upbringing and child-rearing of children who will lead the next generation. bottom. The purpose of this project is to concept design interiors environment, including the playground equipment of the museum, which has been aging and obsolete for about 18 years since its opening, and to provide safer and more comfortable services for users. was to provide "Hamamatsu Children's Center Philosophy" Children have an insatiable curiosity on the inside. Hamamatsu Children's Museum aims to create a loving environment where these children can fully demonstrate their childlike qualities and play to their heart's content with peace of mind. We hope that you will interact with many people and increase your sociality and creativity. In addition, parents who are raising important children who will be responsible for the future will expand the mutual aid network and create an environment where they can enjoy child-rearing while receiving professional support for child-rearing. We believe that what children experience and imagine in a psychologically stable environment during this period is stored in their brain's long-term memory and becomes fertile soil for living a rich and happy life. . [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] 1) Renew some of the playground equipment and interiors while maintaining the operational philosophy and facility functions since the facility was first opened. 2) We set the temporary closure period to a minimum and completed the design and construction within a short period of one year. 3) For the renovation, we worked on the use of Tenryu materials (local materials) promoted by Hamamatsu City, and obtained FSC® project certification. We have received your request above. [Solution] 1) We concept design a playground that incorporates the local characteristics of Hamamatsu's nature and industrial technology, and created a mechanism that nurtures interest and attachment to the local area. 2) In order to create a “playground unique to Hamamatsu” that nurtures the humanity of Hamamatsu children and a foundation for learning, we have created original playground equipment and spaces based on the theory of human development. 3) Tenryu cedar, which is produced in Hamamatsu City, is used in the hall, Daichi zone (floors, walls, some playground equipment), workshop rooms, and corridors. As an FSC® project team with Hamamatsu City as the manager and our company as the deputy manager, we have acquired the international forest certification system "FSC® project certification*" for the first time in Japan as a similar public children's facility. * FSC® project certification ・FSC® standard is an international forest certification system based in Germany and is the highest standard in the world.・ FSC® certification = It is guaranteed that wood from properly managed forests is used.・Hamamatsu City is particularly focusing on the use of FSC® certified materials as a concrete action for SDGs. <Our project members> [Direction] Atsushi Suzuki [concept design] Mika Watanabe [Planning] Reimi Abe [Production] Akinobu Takahashi, Hironari Ota, Takehiro Ichijo [Sales and project management] Akinori Ogasawara, Haruka Tashiro -Related links- [ Release] NOMURA, Ltd. Hamamatsu Castle

Hamamatsu Castle

The castle tower of Hamamatsu Castle is a park facility built in 1958 with donations from citizens. 60 years after its completion, displays and decorations inside the facility were aging. This project is a renewal project in displays area aimed at enhancing the appeal of Hamamatsu-jo Park as a central park and enhancing the satisfaction of citizens and visitors in the milestone year of 450 years since the construction of Hamamatsu-jo Castle by Lord Ieyasu Tokugawa. In our company, I was responsible for construction design of furnishings, sign graphics, visual software hardware, lighting and electrical work, furniture and fixtures, including interiors. (Social issues/customer issues/requests) - Introduced the history of Hamamatsu-jo Castle from its predecessor, Hikuma Castle, to its construction, reconstruction, and demolition, and to Hamamatsu-jo Castle Park. - Introducing the castle ruins in the city that are open for tours, and conveying the multi-layered history of Hamamatsu Castle and the appearance of the castles in various parts of the city. - Bring a sense of unity to current displays stories and historical backgrounds. - Production of multilingual panels and digital video content - displays. - Consideration of traffic lines and concept design, taking into account operations during the pandemic. - Received FSC ® project certification using FSC ® -certified Tenryu wood (made in the city). We received the above request. Solution: We designed the plan focusing on the fact that "young Lord Ieyasu" did indeed reside in Hamamatsu-jo Castle and the historical background and people surrounding him during those 17 years, and zoned the plan into layers of "passion," "situation," and "scene.". - Directed a passion stage expressing the "passion" of young Lord Ieyasu. The history of Hamamatsu Castle, from its predecessor, Hikama Castle, to its construction, reconstruction, and demolition, as well as Hamamatsu Castle Park, was presented through a panoramic theater utilizing existing models. - Tenryusugi, a Hamamatsu cedar, is used for the "scenery" layer on the third floor. In its renewal, the castle became the first in Japan to receive FSC ® project certification. Customer comments: The castle tower has been completely renovated during this renovation, with the current status and issues of the tower being accurately organized and incorporating video footage using the latest technology and recent discoveries and research. In addition, visitors were introduced to the castle ruins in the city that they could visit, as well as to the places associated with Lord Ieyasu, legends and food culture, making the newly dressed Hamamatsu Castle a place to learn, as well as a reconstructed castle tower and other facilities where visitors can look back on the history of Hamamatsu. Visitors have commented that they "understand the origin of Hamamatsu Castle very well" and "it has become fashionable," and the city recognizes that this has not only increased the attractiveness of Hamamatsu Castle as a central park and improved the satisfaction of citizens and visitors, but also improved its function as a base facility for further regional revitalization and tourism exchange. < our company Project Members > (Directions) Atsushi Suzuki (concept design) Sayaka Horikoshi (Planning) Misa Inagaki (Production/construction) Akinobu Takahashi (Sales/Project Management) Akinori Ogasawara and Haruka Tashiro (Related Links) (Release) NOMURA opens "Hamamatsu-jo" and "Hamamatsu Children's Hall," the first FSC ® Project certification facilities using domestic timber in Japan

JR Nichinan Line Nichinan Station Building

JR Nichinan Line Nichinan Station Building

~The station building as a community space where everyone can spend time comfortably, not just waiting for trains~ Based on the concept of creating a place to nurture a community, workshops and questionnaire surveys were conducted with local residents from the planning stage. User needs are identified and reflected in the design. In order to create opportunities to experience various cultures through books during the time spent in the station building, we have also set up a corner where you can browse books and picture books. In order to convey the charm of local resources through the use of the station building, we actively adopted the local specialty "Obi cedar" in various parts of the space and planned and produced the creation of a space where users can experience the charm of Obi cedar through experience. [Customer issues/requests] We received a request to make the Nichinan station building, which had no place to stay and was only a place for getting on and off trains before renovation, to foster a local community and make it a place where you can feel the "local charm". [Solution] In order to convey the appeal of local resources through the use of the station building, we collaborated with a local design office, Ryohin Keikaku Co., Ltd. In order to create opportunities to experience the charm of Obi cedar through experience, we adopted wood for the station building façade and window frames while harmonizing with the forest that spreads behind the station building. At the same time, we implemented a signage plan that allows the presence of the station to be recognized even from afar, and produced a space that harmonizes and fuses with the surrounding environment and the station building using wood as the base. [Customer's voice] People other than JR users have also started to visit the station building, and it has been renovated as an attractive space where local people can gather. Green Stamp Karuizawa Dormitory Shoukan

"Bashoukan" was built in 1892 in Nishikatamachi, Hongo-ku, Tokyo, part of the residence of Count Abe, the former feudal lord of the Fukuyama Domain, and moved to Karuizawa in 1971 by Setsuo Kasuga, the founder of Green Stamp Co., Ltd. It has been restored and used as a memorial hall for the Green Stamp Karuizawa Dormitory. In 2020, as a retreat facility used by both Green Stamp Co., Ltd. and Kenedix Co., Ltd., we renovated "Shoyukan" at the same time as the new Annex. We were in charge of designing and interior administration the refurbishment of Shoukan, including seismic retrofitting, and FFE installation work for the entire facility. [Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests] Since the initial relocation, various extensions and renovations have been carried out, and the connection with the annex is only at the point of the corridor, and the structure has been burdened and subsidence has been seen. rice field. Due to the aging of the facility as a whole, and because of the climate of Karuizawa, it is difficult to use the Shou-kan in winter. It was thought that I would like to refurbish it while leaving the vestige of the old as much as possible. [Solution] Based on the investigation of the Shoukan, we restored the building to the simple form it was in when it was relocated as much as possible. The courtyard faces the annex, giving the facility a sense of unity. While respecting the design of the time as much as possible, we aimed to extend the period of use, including winter, by installing heat insulation and air conditioning equipment in invisible parts.
