"Hamamatsu Children's Center Philosophy"
Children have an insatiable curiosity. Hamamatsu Children's Museum aims to create a loving environment where these children can fully demonstrate their childlike qualities and play with peace of mind. We hope that you will interact with many people and increase your sociality and creativity.
In addition, parents who are raising important children who will be responsible for the future will expand the mutual aid network and create an environment where they can enjoy child-rearing while receiving professional support for child-rearing. We believe that what children experience and imagine in a psychologically stable environment during this period is stored in their brain's long-term memory and becomes fertile soil for living a rich and happy life. .
[Social Issues/Customer Issues/Requests]
1) Renewal of some playground equipment and interiors while maintaining the operational philosophy and functions of the facility since its opening.
2) We set the temporary closure period to a minimum and completed the design and construction within a short period of one year.
3) For the renovation, we worked on the use of Tenryu materials (local materials) promoted by Hamamatsu City, and obtained FSC® project certification.
We have received your request above.
【solution】
1) We concept design a playground that incorporates the local characteristics of Hamamatsu's nature and industrial technology, and created a mechanism that nurtures interest and attachment to the local area.
2) In order to create a “playground unique to Hamamatsu” that nurtures the humanity of Hamamatsu children and a foundation for learning, we have created original playground equipment and spaces based on the theory of human development.
3) Tenryu cedar, which is produced in Hamamatsu City, is used in the hall, Daichi zone (floors, walls, some playground equipment), workshop rooms, and corridors. As an FSC® project team with Hamamatsu City as the manager and our company as the deputy manager, we have acquired the international forest certification system "FSC® project certification *" for the first time in Japan as a similar public children's facility.
* FSC® Project Certification
・The FSC® standard is an international forest certification system based in Germany and is the highest standard in the world.
・ FSC® certification = It is guaranteed that wood from properly managed forests is used.
・Hamamatsu City is particularly focusing on the use of FSC® certified materials as a concrete action for SDGs.
